    These days, 3 grand buys an e90 330i ...

This is the plan. Swop the front parking sensors/bumper and CIC/Combox into the e91, then put the CCC in the e90 ... Parts for the engine rebuild have now started to arrive, needless to say, moving a cylinder head on a pallet isnt easy by yourself ? Untitled by Sir_Dave, on Flickr Untitled...

R56 Cooper S JCW - You may recognise...

Yeah, that was without a map, i personally wouldnt risk one without forged pistons - which would have been the next step if i hadnt sold it. Circa £2k fitted. I paid the following from Lohen, the valve stems were done for free after they overfilled it with oil ... Helix Organic, SMF & Quaife...

R56 Cooper S JCW - You may recognise...

I fitted an Airtec, so unless its been changed (no reason to), itll be that still. It ran 235bhp at Surrey Rolling Road, with FMIC, AEM intake & decat, so it was a good un. We'll after Lohen fixed their f*ckups anyway.

FWD sucks, so here’s a RWD project (MX-5 NC)

I've always thought these look great after being lowered a good foot or so. They come as standard with the kind of arch gap that only @gally could love.

Well, ll i've just bought a low mileage N53 cylinder head, so we're getting there! Highly unlikely that i'll be fitting though, having started my own business, i simply just dont have the time at the moment really ... Thanks, me to! Yeah, i had hoped it would easy, the likelihood of this...

    These days, 3 grand buys an e90 330i ...

Still a 3.0, just detuned. The N53 325i puts out 218bhp, but with a slightly different inlet manifold/map, the N53 330i gives 272bhp ... think my N52 3.0 is 258. Anyways, long post re: the e91 incoming ... In effect, being that N53’s are renown for their issues with coil packs, spark plugs &...

R56 Cooper S JCW - You may recognise...

Yup, this car goes on the pile of "wish id never sold" along with the ShedTrophy, R53Trackshed, Aegean Blue M3 and e90 M3. At the time i bought the RS3, the sentimentality of the R53 made me choose that over this, but in reality, this would have ended up being the better car, plus it would have...

My Brother - Video Games Artist

Havent updated this in a little while, mostly as most of Matt's stuff is embargoed at the moment, but he's doing all the vehicles for this "fairly well known" title atm: Also did the "burning car" theme they launched for PS4 just before Christmas...

    MarkCup's BMW M140i

My M135i exhaust used to rattle on cold start, i just never bothered to do anything about it. It went to the dealer enough times ? RS3's back box rattled as well. I went to Audi about that however, albeit mostly about the blue smoke ...

Cheers @Christopher its in lovely condition, bodywork is a fair bit better than my 330i, barring the front bumper, which is very "motorway miles". But yes to you and @massivewangers, the intention is most likely to fix it and sell; although ill use it for a little while to make sure all is fine...

    These days, 3 grand buys an e90 330i ...

So between Christmas & New Year i bought a manual e91 N53 325i off ebay, with a misfire, whilst a bit drunk. I'll post about it in here, just because hopefully it'll be an easy fix and i can get back to messing about with the 330i. I have no imagination. Untitled by Sir_Dave, on Flickr...

Having now done a bit more reading on the "CarTechnoloGY" forum: https://cartechnology.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?fid=61, it would seem that up until about June, with the coding that ive done, it would give you BMW Live, BMW Internet & Apps for Spotify etc. Unfortunately, BMW appear to have someone...

    MarkCup's BMW M140i

Haha!! I can safely say that in the past 3 years, i've been sideways in RWD once. Needless to say, being that i was in the Porsche at the time, with its fairly high limits, i completely cr4pped myself ? FWD, on track? All the flipping time ?
  15. Sir_Dave

    MarkCup's BMW M140i

I would tend to agree, its all about setup in FWD. For it to be fun, you NEED the option for lift off oversteer, i.e. the ability to steer on the throttle. Without that, on a trackday for example, when you really get to explore the limits, it can only be about lap times, which, unless you're...

Haha, i can understand that completely, if i leave mine in my pocket, the Combox/CIC will just pull through a random playlist through from my iPhone & stream it via bluetooth. Doesnt need to be plugged in for music, text messages or phone calls ? Before i had to bugger about turning on...

I do at the moment yeah, but there is apparently some funky chinese adapter that will allow me to mirror it to the screen - might be a future upgrade perhaps ? What about you, through the phone, or via Cartplay of some sort?

    These days, 3 grand buys an e90 330i ...

I dont use the Nav ever!! Waze is my preference. On that basis, the iDrive dial (& Audis latest controller as per my old RS3) is far better than touch sceen, i find it actually quite difficult to choose things in the Porsche as you drove down the road; either your finger misses the right button...

Thing is, you could get 20-23% off these things new if you simply went on BabyBMW or Pistonheads, so its not surprising the 2nd values have taken a pounding! If you paid retail, you're pretty much a numpty. This whole thing acts as a reminder to always research a purchase thoroughly ? Plenty...

    MarkCup's BMW M140i

lol. Sad times. You want PS4 then. Just fitted another set to Sarah's TT (its had nothing but Pilot Sports for the past 10 years). I'd wager that on the road they are probably just about as good, with more than likely slightly better wet weather performance. Wont be as good on track, or in super...

    MarkCup's BMW M140i

Unless they are brand new, they are absolute turd; its what the RS3 came on when i bought it. Swop them out & the car will be transformed. On anything high powered/RWD, there is no reason not to fit PS4S these days.
  24. Sir_Dave

    MarkCup's BMW M140i

I found my M135i fine in the wet, you just drive to the conditions as per any other car, well barring the RS3, irrespective of the conditions that thing was ballistic lol ... on the flipside, i found the MPSS to be absolutely useless in the greasy conditions post rain. Actual water on the ground...

Not gonna lie, i wouldnt put my wife in that thing, let alone my kids, if i had any. Ignoring the fact that its not really my scene, surely compared to modern machinery, its not particularly safe?

Well, one of my cup holders is slightly broken, so when they do eventually get replaced it would be rude not to upgrade ... ? Am really pleased with the changes though, as @Christopher says, the iDrive etc really makes the interior feel more modern!
