Popped to a car show over the weekend. Cracking run out in the R8. Good food and vibes for a more local show, in excess of 600 cars turned up. Few of the 8 coming through which is cool.

Its more for the tinkering and noise factor than anything else. The rest of the car and gearbox will fall apart around it 🤣

A friend of mine is an absolutely excellent fabricator and engineer for a well know GTR tuning firm. Out of the scrap parts I've got kicking about he has managed to make me a tubular turbo exhaust manifold for the crossflow head. Not finished yet but here are a few pics.

Been having some "scene" fun with the car. After going chunky tires I decided to have a play with tyre decals 😁 will probably actually work well when the turbo engine goes in.

Got it off currently and looks fine. All one piece with the plastic which is odd

Made it to work and back with no issues at all. Drive is lovely 😁 Someone else also decided to drive their retro to work, so I had to park up with it and get some pics

Been putting a few test miles on the car. Luckily the steel wings were easily manipulated for a little extra clearance. Car rides super smooth on the big tyres and the speedo is only 5mph out vs GPS. Little bit of scrubbing on turning but it already did that anyway. Stoked so far, just need to...

I was starting to look at meg 4manifolds and turbos as an upgrade to mine too... i think the meg engine runs a fair whack of boost though?

gave the car an oil and filter swap today, along with finishing up the brake pad change. Will try and get a video up regarding the new exhaust soon too (y)

Little update on the interior of the car. Gone for an 8 ball gear knob (matches the name and the 8's on the outside), ended up drilling it to suit and then using some epoxy resin to fit it in place. Happy with that. Also managed to bag some Alcantara covered dash trims and top. Covered by cobra...
