I'm not sure where id go with this, if I wasn't pulling the head id try set of meg or 1*2 sticks in there to rule out a cam issue.
Curious if something is going on with the the valves still, maybe a sealing issue after you have mentioned them being modified to fit the head.
Really hope you get...
A while back I timed 60-100 on the hybrid turbo, totally forgot I had a draggy tbh but popped it on on the way home from work today, not tried it hard but just a few pulls. Now considering the power hasn't increased just the spread of it, it shows. Not dropping out of spool I guess? 0.74 seconds...
your millage isn't really massive, my own is on 117k miles, tuned and I'm not concerned, only major issue being a replaced TCU. There are cars here going past 200k miles.
Could be a dying battery? its defo worth getting a proper diag done.
should be a lot cheaper than 3k for the tcu too, can fit it in less than an hour.
If the rest of the car is going strong I don't see why not?
Small changes for increased efficiency. I've been watching inlet temps for a while now, and mentally logging external vs intake temps (usually between 10 and 13 deg different) Now the location of a fmic on these is blocked a lot by the number plate and plinth. Id already modded the plinth and on...
Been a while since I've been able to do anything car related. Its been driving me mad, but today I thought I'd give myself something simple to do and try out my new smoke tester.

Absolutely awesome bit of kit, all self contained and doesn't...
I didn't say a bent one, but a failing joint may vibrate intermittently. Does the vibration come from one side? I'm sure @Danith had a driveshaft issue at some point he may be able to help
It has active charging and drops off when not needed. Voltage doesnt necessarily prove the battery is good either. Still worth getting a proper check on it.
I always tap the socket on there a few times and lean on them now. Never used uprated items so cant answer the second question. I'm old school so would pop to a fasteners shop and ask for something of the same size/strength if I was in need. I'm sure you could get some arp bolts though...
First port of call on these is to replace the battery if its over a few years old, with a decent AGM item.
Issues you have listed could be a multitude of things. Id get the codes cleared and the shift drum and clutch actuation reset and see what comes back
I had shift issues and tried lots of...
I'm currently recovering from a large parastomal hernia repair, it hasn't gone as well as it should but I'm still on the mend, just slower than expected. On the run up to having the op I decided it would be a good time to get some repair work done to the 8. Now underneath it isn't the worst but...
Whilst I was over in Runcorn I did a quick shoot across the bridge and back to grab a drive belt for my buddy in the pug 308gti. Guess who totally forgot to pay the charges... twice 🤦🏻♂️
