😁 it was dialed in to give the same torque for now. It just has a fair chunk more of it. Im going to go away and see if I can find info what sort of figures the stock rods can take. Cross ref part numbers and such against the megane maybe.
Hopefully it'll give me/us some confidence in pushing...
Newer TCU. Fitted one from a 2018 trophy, which as it was, then restricting my power. That led me to doing some other upgrades at the same time (turbo and hpfp)
Possibly, that said there were 2 or 3 turbos listed on Ebay alone when I looked a while back. May even find that its the same setup on a talisman or espace in Europe. I know the hpfp is shared.
It is crazy, chris was staying how the modern stuff loves to boost too. Back in the day, whacking 20psi through some they would grenade themselves. This borg warner is so say happy running 26/28psi if i wanted it
What a long weekend, drive up to Anglesey for CSF then across to EFI parts for a few hours then back. Well that was the plan...
Anyway this is how it went. Got there and had a little chin wag over what had been done and what I wanted to look at. Chris seemed to like the idea :D and he always...
drive up with the clique was great, and the few hours I was there in the morning were good too (y)
Big thanks to everyone involved for getting this on and done year after year (y)
Poor cars been sat since the 27th of last month, I may go make sure it still starts shortly. Anyway I was nudged to say there was a small pic of it in the Retro Rides write up in copacetic magazine, had to order a copy just for that.
can be found here, its a very well put together bit of...
A little digging through the scrap pile saw me with enough bits to wrap up the boost hoses and breather pipe work. Just need the pressure reference for the n75 valve and we are good to go
Pics in no particular order
Hoping for wider spread of power, also there are off the shelf upgrade turbos available.
Id expect it to still tap out the standard HPFP, so will change that out and see what "fuel" is available on the dyno. Even if the turbo doesn't flow enough for big numbers (circa 320/330bhp on the meg 4?)...
It was 32 degrees today, I know lets work on the car........
Long gruelling day with the heat but the bulk of the work is done. I did need to bust out the angle grinder at one point but a decent enough job. Out with the OEM exhaust manifold and hybrid turbo and back in with the Meg 280 RS...
There has been a change to the mapping date, its now sat the 26th, so that means i wont be on track at CSF. not a biggy as id rather not risk it. Will probably shoot over from the track to EFI and back.
A little tinkering as always, this may not amount to much but we will see.... So I got hold of a Meg 4 RS 280 twin scroll turbo and manifold. The 1.8 is basically a stroked 1.6 engine from what I can tell.
Anyway the thought process here, twin scroll gives quicker spool and wider spread of...
With the Clio being mildly annoying I've not actually gotten any further with the turbo build for this, the 8 being used a sthe reliable daily. With the ehat we've had it has been like driving a green house but still plenty of smiles and miles.
One of the blokes from work lad asked if I'd give...
