    Me & Eww the 172

Started a new job in the new year, settled in so back to the Clio. Started to build up the rear beam on Sunday . Fitted the pms spacers and tightened everything up as per the pms fitting guide. Up next in went the powerflex bushes, they were a tight squeeze but found a couple of sockets and...

...acf’d the underside and all the sills. Here’s some pics of some bits waiting to go on: I’ve also now got a knock when pulling away (joy). So this evening I’ve ordered: Powerflex dog bone mounts Powerflex engine mount 10mm spacers for the front as the PM’s 18’s make it handle like s**t.

    Monaco 172 Track Car

I’ve been using the Cuvva app for my new toy. Like you, AF wanted a kings ransom so I fooked them off. Now I just insure it for a day or so if I want to move it out of storage and work on it at home. Costs me around £20. I’ll be doing that going back and forth to Croft this year as I’m damned if...

    Monaco 172 Track Car

...a few sessions out, swapped to my track wheels and swapped the PBS pads up front for DS1.11. Had one issue where I tried to put some 15mm spacers on, the Braid wheels I got for track have a much lower ET than the 2118 so wanted to reduce the offset. But because the spigot of the hub...

197/200 Brembo Conversion - Wheel Fitment Guide

Nah they don't mate. I ended up selling mine in the end Even with a 20mm spacer they didn't fit. Not without taking a large chunk of the caliper off with a grinder

    ‘Bonnie Blue’ The RB 182

My front bearings failed on my BG. Despite driving it daily, I didn't realize the extent of the issue until they nearly fell apart. I had a suspicion that something was amiss. To test it, I would drive along the motorway, shift into neutral, and let it coast, but the problem was difficult to...

    ‘Bonnie Blue’ The RB 182

...suggestions? Oh, and this rubbing situation. Need to investigate if it's the well known bracket on the front rubbing or it's caused by the spacers..... regardless, the front 18mm PMS spacers will be coming off as it's too wide and no good for handling...

    Spacers 'guide'/info

@leeds2592 I will say I had 16mm front spacers on et38 2118s and it sat fine, but when I swapped to BCs, the same wheel and spacer setup was too wide. I think this was due to the bolt spacing on the BCs being further away or closer (can't remember which) to the shock body so I think this plays a...

I’m thinking maybe 10’s upfront?. I can’t imagine the 18s are doing the handling any favours 🥴

...ET35 with 15mm on the front and 5mm on the rear lowered on B14’s with 1.28/1.29 degree of camber on the front. Can’t remember what make of spacers the 15mm are but they’re hubcentric and the 5mm on the back are axel ones. I did have 20mm on the front and 10mm on the back but it scraped...

    Spacers 'guide'/info

I think the smallest you can find is 15mm/16mm. You can't go any lower unless it's not hubcentric because the way the hubcentric ones are designed, they have to clear the protrusion of the OE hub behind it. A flat spacer would avoid this, but you run the risk of having little hub left once its...

Bit of a bump. I’ve got pms hubcebtric 18mm’s up front and the pms axle spacer kit on the rear. I am running cup turinis at present and the front is rubbing a fair bit. Especially with r/h lock. I am on bc coilovers with camber bolts at about 2.1 deg and running full castor on the top mounts...

    Steves' PH2 200T

I've mentioned it already but on this same setup (+Cooksports) I experience practically no rubbing on PS4s. I have a set of same profile NS-2Rs in the garage which rub considerably more, but my rear beam is likely slightly off centre as the N/S rear shoulder catches on the bodywork as the...

yeah i've gone for 225 40 Contis and have 16mm front/10mm rear axle spacers. Just the front end does my head in a little, sits 5 to 10mm too high

looking good. my cheapo rubber splitter is still on and hasn't budged (touches wood) @Danith I had no rubbing issues with the cooksports on stock cup shocks (well until I fitted spacers..... Plus i run 225 wide tyres)

    182 Need some assistance …

...is still available to buy? I am rubbing a little since lowering as expected. I’m probably going to remove the 18mm front spacer tbh. What spacers are you guys running and at what ride height ? Also, I am wanting to change the wheel bolts to some of those polarised jobs.. what size bolt...

Oops I did it again... Adey's Clio 200 EDC

Looking good, same setup as mine with the cooksports and spacer setup, only found it to rub slightly on full lock at the front. I ended up dropping the fronts down to 16mm as 20 was a little too much for me!

Oops I did it again... Adey's Clio 200 EDC

Ive also manged to fit some Pure Motorsport bits over the Christmas break. 10mm stub axle spacers and some 20mm front spacers also from pure. Fills the arches out nicely, will give it a bash over the next few weeks and see if there is any rubbing.

    Track car coilover spring rates......

I have very little technical knowledge about setting up cars, but very interested to read all the info above. Only reason I have spacers is to clear the brembo calipers. My own goal has always been to get coilovers on mine with fairly low spring rates and get it corner weighted at pretty much...

    Track car coilover spring rates......

I am going to be fitting BC coilovers soon as well and I am running the same spacers, I intend to leave mine on. I am also going to fit solid top mounts and a RARB at the same time, see how it feels with a completely different set up.

    Track car coilover spring rates......

I'm fitting my coilovers on the 5th (BC's) on my FF182 I've currently got 18mm fronts and 10mm rear spacers.. not sure if they're going to need to come off......... Any thoughts?

    Track car coilover spring rates......

Massive difference, without spacers I can't fit my wheels.

    Track car coilover spring rates......

Do the spacers make much difference? I've always avoided them thinking it will make the scrub radius/tramlining worse.
