They don't do RP1 for my standard caliper so it's either DS1.11 or Winmax W5. Both are highly rated, but I have heard the W5 have a crazy long life and better pedal feel. Probably go with 2500 in the rear.
Yer I think about swapping to Winmax as I heard they are better than DS1.11 and they last for a long time.
I think the rear has some crappy standard pads in, but I'm going to be freshing the rears soon.
Another track day done at Bedford. AR1s are mega, so much more grip. I'm still not liking the brake pedal feel so I might just swap the pads out for something else. Apart from that, the car performed excellent again and no dramas. I was just getting a bit bored as I had no one to play with 99%...
Can't wait to try them out in anger on Monday!
I was worried they would fall out on track, I see so many people lose their centre caps so didn't fancy risking it.
Thought to myself, I'll whip the spacers out the rear, no worries should take an hour.... Absolutely welded to the stub axle. Lots of swearing, cutting and hammering and they came off. Took it for a drive and doesn't rub on speed bumps so I'll call that a win.
It only rubs if I go over a speed bump a bit quick, it was fine down my local bumpy road. Bedford is flat so hopefully it will be fine. I can massage it with the jack handle if needs be.
Wheel bolts arrived so wheels on. It must have some rear spacers I didn't know about as it shouldn't be that tight lol. Good job I didn't get 7.5j wheels. I'm sure the rear arches will self clear or ill get the hammer out. Even going round the block, you can tell the AR1s are serious. A lot more...
The left one is correct, I just don't have enough of them because they are only fitted to the rear due to running longer bolts on the front for spacers. Now I have removed the spacers To fit the new wheels, I don't have the right bolts to bolt them on at the front.
Test fitted one of the wheels, but I'm have a bit of a mare with the bolts.
Genuine is on the left and the ones Andy gave me on the right. When you put them both through the wheel, the ones on the right stick out about 23/24mm on the back of the wheel and the genuine ones sit about 19/20mm...
Some good news!
eBay refunded me for the bent wheels, so I will relist them honestly this time and hopefully get £50 or something.
Wanted to say a massive thank you to @Andy P I collected the Megane wheels last night and they are mint. Even gave me some wheel bolts to use without my spacers...
