I wouldn't say that's true at all mate! Can't think of any major problems with any of the common performance cars from BMW / Audi / Merc / Porsche etc. Yes in the past but most stuff seems fairly bullet proof nowadays.

Don't go to sleep the first time but try it, be interesting to find out.
