Is there a consensus on what the best company to get throttle cables is? I see a huge number of pattern parts available.
I assume renault do not stock throttle cables anymore.
You can try swapping injectors around to narrow down the exact problem. Very easy to do if you're competent with a spanner.
Black plug sounds a bit like an over fueling issue.
Could probably look for some second hand plugs from a breakers if money is a bit tight.
Hello Gen90 enthusiasts. I have built my self into a bit of a corner here.
I am running a second hand Gen90 ECU and have all the hardware/software to connect to it. It runs on the map that I have but quite terribly, the throttle response is terrible and the revs return to idle concerningly...
What kind of issues are you looking to resolve with this service? is your UCH broken?
I am having a weird problem where my engine wont shut down with the key, I am wondering if its UCH related.
Horn is probably just the connector that's gone. It lives down behind the front bumper so in the elements. One of my jobs this evening is to wire a new connector onto mine to get it working again for the MOT!
Do you have a multi meter? Probably going to need one!
Might be a bad earth somewhere. It's normally a bad earth somewhere!
I feel for the amount of problems you're having dude. My cars been sat for 14 years and it somehow seems to have less problems thank you!
Do you know which pin? Running a gen90 ECU? And if it's on the live or the earth?
Immediate next question would be where the ECU gets it's switch live into pin29. I assume this comes from the UCH to go via the immobiliser check?
Had a bit of a go at dissecting this but it's pretty confusing. Is there anyone good at reading these to talk to?
I basically want to know where the signal wire for the coil/pump relay comes from. Does it come from the ECU or the UCH?
Alternatively is there a control on the earth of the relay...
Wheels up or down shouldn't make a difference, nor should the lack of box oil.
Does it go up and down easily but not front to back? What about at the neutral height, can you push it back and forward for 3rd and 4th respectively?
Clutch is normally pretty heavy as they cable.
I think, just to keep the peace, you need to drop the linkage and try and select the gears on the box manually. Just to shut everyone up!
what do you mean "on the floor"? If you mean with the vehicle on its wheels I'd say impossible.
Never done one with the engine in, you might be able to half drop the subframe and get it out the side but someone will have to confirm. You'll also need to find a way to support the engine while...
I've always found FrogJam extremely quick if you pay express delivery. Normally next day.
Alternatively them may sell you singles or just give you the length if you ask nicely. They've always been very helpful for me.
If it makes you feel any better I'm pretty sure my box is going to pop as soon as I get out on track, it's the only thing I've not rebuilt at this point.
Someone is selling jc5-129 with LSDs on here 👀
If you do as much of the work yourself you'll at least be left with something close to...
You've really been thrown in the deep end with this car haven't you! Feel for you mate but you'll be a much more knowledgeable enthusiast at the end if you stick with it!
I don't suppose anyone has a wiring diagram showing the following wires:
The 12v for the exciter wire into the alternator
The 12v switch live into the coilpack/fuel pump relay
I assume at least the second one of these comes from the UCH as it need to pass the immobiliser test.
So cleaned up the alternator earth so you now get >0.1ohm between the casing and the earth strap. The problem where the ignition stays on (engine off) has now disappeared.
Ran a new earth for the coil pack relay and expected everything to be perfect but again, key off when the engine is...
I stripped back my ph1 172 wiring quite aggressively but I did it last, once I had everything back in and how I liked it. I just traced wires back to their nearest plug and cut the wire short, then put some heat shrink insulation around the stump.
Obviously without knowing your build I don't...
I don't suppose someone knows when leaks should become apparent?
Ran it up to temperature a couple of times and not seen anything out the bottom of the bell housing so I might have actually got it right first time! touch wood.
People have made them in the part for the group-N timing, IIRC that is a 9deg r****d of the exhaust cam so you could just made a very minor mod to the CAD model and get it CNC'd as you say.
Thanks for posting the bleed process! i probably should do this with mine rather than just fill it up and hope for the best! tbh that method has always worked in the past.
Regarding the shafts - look up Peter Withers on Facebook, he's the guy that I used (also i think the person that posted...
It should be just a case of specing the length and end form and getting them to mock them up. Are you planning on running them along the same routing as the hard lines as you may need something more substantial holding them to the body. Flexible lines will want to sag more than hard lines.
You...
Well, if anyone else reading this has some wiring diagrams for the ph1 showing where the switch lives from the ignition barrel go that would be ace! :D
