All sorted now. I desoldered the wire and soldered a new wire in and then soldered that to the leds and it's all working for now 🤞🤞

Where would the earth be for the spoiler? Any idea?

They worked with the last led board I had it in there. It only failed because it got wet so I cut the wires off the failed led board so I had more to work with when I came to replace it. It was a bit of a t**t to solder them because the wires aren't very long, they're almost inside the spoiler...

Yeah. Engines on and brake pedal pressed in. The 2 normal brake lights are working just the spoiler won't light up.

Strange problem this. I'm replacing the led pcb in my spoiler brake light. I have 12 volts coming through the wires in the spoiler. The replacement led pcb works when I plug it into a 12 volt supply in the house. When I connect the wires together, the leds don't come on and the voltage drops...

I'm pretty sure it's like you said, they use a sealant to put the window in. You're probably better off taking it to a windscreen place and they'll take it out and reseal it.

They should fit all 172s and 182s. I have both sides fitted to my 182.

I've never seen anyone use one of these before. It looks like it'll be a pain in the arse to repair. I'd just get a second hand regulator and fit that.

They do this. I had a 172 before this 182 and they both did it. It only clicks under the glove box for the drivers side window, not the passenger side. Don't ask me why lol.

It's easy, just a couple of bolts holding in the regulator. I found it easier if the window is halfway down so you can get your hand on the white clip that pushes through the hole in the bottom of the window.

I fitted a 2nd hand one that I had.

I had something very similar a couple of months ago. It sounded like a metallic scraping noise. One of the brackets that bolts the regulator to the door had snapped off. There are 2 of them,one at the top and one at the bottom. You'll have to take the door card off and see if the regulator is loose.

Sounds like a money pit. £1k max.

Is that rust under the rubber door seal the actual door rusting or the metal inside the door seal itself? The demist function on your mirror might just be the heating element on mirror. One of mine failed a few years ago. I got a pattern part mirror off ebay and it's been fine since.

I changed the drivers side door check strap yesterday. It definitely looks different to the original one, but it works. No more clunking of the door when I open and close it 😁👍 One thing I have noticed with this check strap is, the door opens way more than with the original.
