I am a Canon man and it seems to be the more popular brand but the Nikons are known to have better Kit lenses

The X00D has its benefits such as being able to alter settings on the screen is easier etc, but the x0D is just so nice to hold and has a really nice weight to it too

Yes! Doesn't really matter because you can set it in the Bios but I am anal like that. Hard Drives in 1-4 starting with OS drive on the first Sata 5 and 6 for my DVD Drives

I don't think students get free apple care! I always bought mine at a heavily discounted rate, the uni discount for machines varies but is around 15% give or take 5%. You get about 66% off the apple care from what i remember
