The b16 in the civic jordan is a very old design compared with the new i-vtec's in the type r etc, go and compare the ctr's torque compared with a 172 and they are very close although the clio's comes in a little lower. I have driven a few b16 engined cars and they are not as quick as the 168...

The fact that they have high bhp means nothing, they only achieve that because they rev so high, they have bugger all torque.

Looking good, are you going to go for a similar colour scheme as your old saxo?

The clio would have no bother against a jordan, when i had my williams a friend had a crx sir 168bhp and the 150bhp clio would comfortably beat it.

I have had a saxo vts, williams and 172. The williams is quicker than the vts, the vts could kind of hold on at lower speeds but get into 3 figures and the williams was away the handling and braking are also a large improvement over the vts. The best qtr mile time i got in the vts was 15.405 and...

Dont agree with that, you can beat the synchro with the standard level if your fast enough, just because its a shorter shift doesn't mean it is wearing out the gearbox. I have a b&m and it is so much better than a standard gear level set up, much lower and feels nice quality.

Toyo's are really over rated imo, they are awful in the wet although not as bad as the tigers i bought once:eek: . You cant go wrong with eagle F1's, i had them on my williams and thought they were great and quite cheap.

I never said it was quicker than the audi off the line, i think if the audi just had a re-map it would be quicker than my car. Having been in/driven his car around i would like to get something vag next, nice build quality and reliability, a lcr would fit the bill nicely:), with re-map:rasp: .

I dont have a vts, i have a 193bhp 172.

That website is so inaccurate and doesnt take into account many factors like gearing etc. My friend has an s3 225bhp one and my car is slightly quicker apart from off the line, the weight really kills them.

Thanks for the info Rich, alan if you ever fancy giving a demonstration i know of a pink car which needs it.
