Yeah that's the immobiliser light mate. Passenger door won't have any impact on that

Need to get the key working first. Once that's working and locking/unlocking the car, then you'll need to hold the button on the key as you turn the ignition on. That will sort the immobiliser

I watched that that stone automotive video and I felt fairly confident I could do it myself. You've got to have all the right locking tools though, and not the cheap s**t ones. You just need to tripple tripple tripple check everything before turning it over Could get a cheap 2nd hand engine...

There's something in the back of my head that if I remember right it was like an anti tamper thing that if the wrong key was used, the lock just rotated. I may of completely made that up though! If that door has been replaced then I'm guessing the lock isn't the original unfortunately mate. Not...

Yup had to do the exact same thing on my phase 2 after I tried to use the spare key and it wouldn't start it

The red LED should light up when you press the button. It could be one of the solder joints have gone or corrosion on the terminals for the battery maybe? Stick a picture of the PCB up mate

The key might of lost it's coding if it's been dead for a while maybe? That might not be a thing though so someone else might confirm. Key defo worked originally though

Think it's an M6 10mm hex head bolt under the arch liner on each side of the bumper. The small torx screws I think hold the liner to the bumper, and then there's two by each headlight under the grill that I can't remember which. Hopefully they're all there (assuming they were the right ones...
