Yes exactly, the ECUs are internally sampling way way higher, just the default output stream (for dashboards, PMU control logic etc) is generally around 50hz. This is ample for most use cases, and means your average user does not have to configure anything to use a digital dash, seperate logger...
If you can get the data at a reasonable rate, anything is possible really. I've been using the GPS module for a number of years, and at the end of last year started to experiment with using the data to produce timing data on the logger, live in firmware.
I don't see it as I'm driving - but I...
https://www.ecumaster.com/products/gps-to-can-v2/ - Keep an eye out on eBay, they come up from time to time second hand. Regardless, they just work and has been perfect, 25hz. It's acelleration data is also comparable to the accel directly inside my ABS pump, it's just a fit and forget solution...
Sorry OK - So not CAN transciever speed, they'll all do 250/500/1000kbps, some even down at 125kbps - which I actually use in the Porsche as the comfort network runs at this (Electric windows, cluster, body, etc), but that isn't actually true differential CAN per se, its FTCAN that can operate...
🤣 If it works for what you need, it works.
I log circia ~370 channels at 100hz to SD in binary from ECU, 2x PDMs and a few other CAN devices, which has been reliable for many years. Yes it's had many iterations of the firmware... but it works. The same can't be said for the various commercial...
Yes, works absolutely fine, but exactly why I'm not an electrical designer nor ever intend to be. I don't use AI personally, for design or code. Interested to hear some actual context on the 'security concerns'....
I just use KiCad, reading data sheets for component sizing and then...
That looks great - can appreciate the time and knowledge that has gone into that 👍 I've never got into any type of WinUI or graphics side of application development... my dotnet (6 > 8 > 10) has always been service/background/console applications, usually cross platform for Windows/Linux (mainly...
Had a CT136HD for 10 years now, covered a lot of miles and had no issues at all. I've replaced the brake shoes once and had a couple of sets of tyres.
They have a lower bed than other brands which helps with lower stuff, but I still swapped to longer ramps as the standard 1.8m are a bit short...
Around 5 min 30 sec on your video was the first time all day I thought... christ thats some serious wing on the MX5 😂 👌
Anyone know the person with the E36? We spoke earlier in the day but I forgot his username..
It's always a good match between them when I stick to low boost, the session format helped too as we could easily get out at the same time
Unfortulately catastrophic internal damage, it dropped an inlet valve mid afternoon. It will be back...
Great weekend - not had a Clio for 15 years but always good to catch up with some (really) old faces and new! Missed plenty of people but there is never enough time.
Session format was well ran, any stoppages were cleared quickly... Still covered the same amount of miles as an average open...
It probably is - I tried to give it as much priority as possible, and wanted the biggest gate I could so I had zero possibility of creep and could control the boost well. Didn't initially realise how much surface area of the gate would affect it... so I put a 3psi spring in it... and it made...
I also guess it depends on the setup, wastegate priority and how well the PID is set up for the solenoid first too... so many variables even down to different ECU vendors. With me using a 60mm gate, it has a massive frontal surface area and is basically straight in the flow of both banks - to...
I didn't see too much variance in boost on the previous setup, maybe half a psi at most - but it's mostly used in these months and never on the road I guess. The closed loop does work well on ECUMaster - it's something to look at, as my resolution is going to drop with the 4 port, so the gate...
Yes it's stable, just the whole 3D base duty cycle table for the solenoid is now off on the Garrett. I was running ~E35 last week, and last time on the dyno tuning ethanol the old turbo wouldn't make more than 5psi on 100% duty cycle (now know it was f*cked).
I don't use closed loop boost...
The M2 is on Nitrons and CR-S, with a map, approx 600hp - however it was his first time at Cadwell... and being a confidence track he was not pushing it at all. There is still lots of time in the Cayman, its consistent high 1.3x's round there though. It was the first outing on the Garrett and...
🤣 I've had some big moments everywhere at Cadwell over the years, and still not fully confident around Charlies where I crashed/rolled the E36..
Trying to use up old tyres last week didn't help either!
Back to AR-1 on the rear for CSF.
So with under two weeks to go, does everyone participating in the track time have their cars ready... ?
Hoping we get the same conditions as the Thursday just gone...
There were plenty of Clios there - from Mk1s with 197 engines through to 200s, anyone from here thats coming to CSF ?
Best...
It's a good level on both base (wastegate) and 7-8psi, I've added flex fuel over winter so I can run a blended fuel, but ran out of time to get back to the dyno to tune that before the above. My plan this year was to concentrate on the set up more, as it had been good for 6 days in the back half...
Well DET killed it, due to oil ingestion, but also an issue with knock control (which would have prevented it). It's a long story and probably easier to explain at Cadwell in July if you're interested!
Spare engine is built up and ready to go in this weekend 👌
Before Oulton, I got it on...
