Its getting delivered tomorrow, i have heard i need to run a direct feed to the battery... why?

i really am terible when it comes to ice i just dont have a clue! i have a williams 2 and iv just uprated the limited speakers and wiring which head unit should i buy? i have around 300 to spend.

whats going on with the wiring to the speakers in my williams there is 4 wires going to each of the front speakers?
