Perhaps a lambda sensor issue? My 182 used to be a pig to drive when cold (still not great) and I found it to be a million times better after replacing the Lambda sensors.

Been round and round with circles with this. I can't work out what the tinkling/whistling noise is in the below video. It happens under load and is loudest between 3-4K and 5-7K RPM - it get's louder as the car gets warmer. I have replaced the knock sensor, spark plugs (correct ones used)...

Thanks for your reply's, I replaced all 4 plugs around 20K ago with the recommended NGK ones - it's also had a new set of leads and coil pack on it. So I can't think its any of that. Any thoughts?

Thanks so much for the tips guys, Th cable appears not to have snapped from brief inspection. For example when someone else applys the handbrake, you can see the cable moving and being pulled. I shall check under the heat shield this evening, but it seems to me like somethings not working...
