Oh maybe was thinking of the airbag module. I knew there was something behind it!
Yeah I wouldn’t worry too much about the immobiliser, mine seemed to still work and I didn’t do anything and I’m a proper ham fisted idiot when it comes to fixing things.
If it’s second hand and got a map on it then it might run better than mine did on start up.
Isn’t the immobiliser on a different ECU behind the gear stick? I never did anything about an immobiliser on mine
I did have a lot of help from others on here doing this! But my argument was if I can do it anyone one can 🤣
I hated doing the ECU changes as that was an expensive piece of kit that I didn’t want to ruin!
Oh might want to chuck some sacrificial spark plugs in when you start it for the first...
Consider yourself lucky it’s just been a months, this has been my life for the past 6 years 🤣
I can sympathise with the support rota crap. I work on a system that is never allowed to fail or go down. I’m a part of the 3rd line support team for it and it’s the worst part of my job dealing with...
It was cheaper than a Z4 and not a convertible VW Beetle which the wife wanted. I’ve really grown to like the shape of it.
Forgot about that little prick.
Both of my Ph1’s suffered with a sticky throttle body. Cleaned and also changed the throttle cable seemed to help with the first one. But the second one was having none of it. Only way I fixed it was to fit ITBs
I’ve got my Z3 for sale which is pretty much an E36…..it’s a lot better value than the equivalent E36 2.8 manual or M3 (it’s a manual 2.8 with an M50 manifold and all suspension and steering stuff refreshed and BC Racing coil overs…)
Doing ITBs was the best way to waste thousands on improve my old Ph1. Would I do it again? Yes. Have even looked up ITB kits for my Z3 because having that noise is addictive.
My quick eBay earlier showed they were £15k-ish which is ok imo for what it is but then a few years back were just about sub £10k. Maybe one to get, keep nice and watch the value climb?
Mainly because of BL rust 🤣 it was fast for what it was but still like trying to wrangle a super tanker through the Suez Canal. In hindsight saving the E30 donor car would have been a better deal than hacking it apart for a Triumph. Only was a 2000 as the Dolomite Sprint we looked at for the...
Probably the car I’d buy if I ever came into serious money. Typical super cars do nothing for me, I’d rather roll around in something like a 3.0 csl.
It’s mad that while BMW were making that glorious piece of art us over here at BL were making the god awful Triumph 2000 🤣 (back when I was 18...
Pictures are good!
No evidence I was out on track, I’ll have to get my go pro out. So this means the E34 will be coming next year with better coolant hoses so I can at least manage half a day!
Echoing others, I enjoyed myself. Thank you for organising. Hope next year I’ll be able to hang around for longer!
I agree with @Ay Ay Ron and keep it at Anglesey.
I’ve had to call it a day earlier than planned and head home just in case it takes me forever waiting on the side of the A55 for the car too cool. It was a split coolant hose that ended my session 😭
Was nice to chat and speak to a few people!
Squeaky bum moment…car would not start. Nothing. No lights on dash. s**t. I’ve been out in it this morning all fine, but lazy to start though.
Back seat out, multi meter on the battery….the isolator wasn’t on ffs. Crisis averted.
Cleaned and ready for the morning. Checked tyre pressures first thing, have enough fuel to get me to Tesco in Bangor, cassette tapes ready for the journey over. Will check the oil level when I arrive as I’ve got not level space on the drive.
My shaft or the drive shaft? Not sure I’m clique enough for it to be my shaft.
Also found an unused genuine gear box fill plug and seal too I will bring along.
Does anyone want a N/S drive shaft for a Ph1 172 and/or ISO fix bar? Giving them away as they are in the shed taking up room. Driveshaft is ok, the one gaiter has a small cut in that I glued up. I was keeping it to get it refurbed as a spare but pointless now I don’t have a Clio.
Happy to...
APIs and response codes is basically my life at work. Making a system with micro service architecture everything calls everything else via APIs. Trying to trace through exceptions and errors to work out what is wrong can be hard if devs have done a crap job - yes I have been guilty of swallowing...
Take it you are going on the A4120 to Aberystwyth then the A487 north? If so good roads to drive, enjoyed it when I drove them on a mini road trip with friends last October.
