I have checked the earth it is on and looks ok

After a engine change on my 172 it won't start traced fault to the injectors. fuel is getting to the fuel rail but nothing comes out the injectors when you turn it over. If you squirt fuel in the injector holes it will fire when turned over so I have a spark. Any help will be appreciated thanks...

There was no sprig clip on it there was a pin holding the selector to the rod that went it but it is the selector that is connected to the rod that is coming off the sprocket I will put on a photo when I strip it down today

I have just changed my 5th gear and all was ok but the 2nd time I put it into 5th it all locked up. I removed the cover and found selector come off the sprocket at the end and this keeps doing this what have I done wrong or not done.
