Thanks, that was a hot day and struggled with our tyres, I thought we had medium compound but were actually soft......DOH!!!
Power 225 BHP 218ft/lb and 820 Kg
I'm only guessing double but 300lb is way to soft with that engine.
Your car weight is very similar to the race Clio's @Tony Hunter , be interesting what tony runs on the front.
We are 745KG and run 400lb.
We have the rear slightly higher 10mm, if I wanted the rear to be a bit looser I would...
I race a Renault 5 with the C1j, so fronts a lot lighter than yours, so 300lb is way to soft, could be double that ?
We run 400lb springs on the front and the rear dampers are very soft. Gaz golds and I think they are 4 clicks from full soft.
-1 degree on the rear and 2.5 neg camber on the...
First thing is to sort the engine out....
Looking at Calendars and regs for 2017, holidays, an extension and other things going on next year, so got to work around that lot.
Nice drive Tony apart from the start :)
Visibility looked pretty bad..........should they have just cancelled the day? doubt spectators couldn't see a thing.....
Good point on adding castor.
We have Compbrake top mounts and modified them to get more castor.
Once you start adding castor, you can lose some camber.
Lots of testing and measuring temps if you want to get it right.
The 5 did well at Snetterton qualifying 8/31 in very tricky wet conditions.
Race 1 , good start getting upto 4th and holding position on a wet track to finish 4th.
Race 2 in blue skies and near perfect conditions.
Starting on the second row in 4th place, we get upto 2nd place within the first...
Noise test always vary, most tracks are very strict now and throw you off. makes it an expensive few laps.
Just make it quiet for a hassle free day........
Yes luckily an easy job to change, so got to play again.
We haven't bent any pushrods for years when we did something wrong, last 4 seasons not bent any.
Something not right in this engine....
Tyres are fine, we just need to raise the rear up slightly to prevent rubbing and don't drive so...
Brands Hatch.
Yet another frustrating days racing.
Qually was a disaster with the new Kumhos rubbing at the rear, poodled round getting in the mandatory 3 laps without destroying the n/s rear tyre.
19/40 with a 58.9
Back to pits and got the grinder out to remove some of the rear quarter...
Thanks Sonny, glad we finally found the problem, was driving me mad.
Clutch was knackered, oil/heat destroyed it !! Was slipping badly after a couple of laps.
Thanks, yes not the best picture, that's the last bolt hole at the half moon for crank....
We welded it up and all seems good, nice to have car running and not have oil dripping out.
Looking forward to Brands.
This has plagued us all year. A persistent oil leak, which we now know from the sump, causing lots of problems.
All fixed so looking forward to Brands on the 30th.
