To the best of my knowledge, even if your fully comp insurance gives you 3rd party cover on other cars, the other car has to be insured properly by someone else. I believe the idea is to stop you buying a Clio and a Ferrari, insuring the Clio fully comp, and driving the Ferrari 3rd party and not...
When I changed my pads, I put the pad nearest the engine in place first, then put the caliper in place and braced it against the new pad, then pulled like a b**ch until it had receeded enough to fit the other pad in.
My mum went looking at a new Yaris a couple of years ago, and my bro was with her, so he asked the salesman,
bro "What's the 0-60"
salesman "Well, depends how hard you accelerate, normally about 10s, but if you really give it some, probably about 7s"
bro *stunned silence*
I've seen these bulbs https://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/product.php?productid=16358&cat=607&page=1 and I'm wondering if they're worth getting, also there are 80W bulbs available. I've had one of mine go, so thought I'd upgrade them, but not sure whether to go for these or just get some Phillips...
55-60mph is best for most cars MPG, too low and the engine is labouring, not working efficiently so you'll end up with rubbish MPG. If you're that concerned about MPG get a diesel, DCi's will do 50 when ragged round town, and up to 90 if you drive at 55-60 on the M-way.
You just disconnect the old HU, and then plug in the new one, couldn't be easier, but you will lose your remote controls and display unless you pay out for a an extra lead, think they're about £30.
I bought one a couple of months and am really pleased with it.
Only bad thing is that it can take a while to search for an artist, but that's the problem with having 1,000s of tracks at your disposal, and its as good as if not better at accessing the iPod than any other HU I've come across...
£50 road tax on my DCi80! Back of the net!
I really don't know why they don't put road tax on top of fuel duty, it would be so much fairer, pay for what you use, no admin costs for collecting it, and the more efficient your car is the less you pay.
I have Tomtom working on an iPaq, works brilliantly, plus I have a bluetooth receiver with the Sirf III chipset, and it works flawlessly from under my driver's seat!
I'm not keen on plates relating to the car, I just think what's the point? A clio V6 is so obviously a V6, you don't need a plate to tell people. Had to giggle to myself the other day, saw a BMW 325i, with the plate V6 ***, muppet doesn't realise he doesn't have a V6!
Hi guys,
I have a Mk2 ph2 clio, and whilst taking my HU out, knocked my hazards on and then they wouldn't switch off, have managed to bodge the switch, but if I put them on again I'll need to take my HU out again to fix switch, so anyone know where I can get a switch from?
Also, I have a...
Check brake fluid and pads, those lights came on in my car and it was because the pads were worn and so the car thought it was low on brake fluid, changed pads and haven't seen the lights again.
Personally, I think you will find that coming from a VW TDI, the 182 will feel a bit lethargic under 4,500rpm, on nice open roads when you can really open it up its fine, but round town it will feel flat, as for the ride, it is a little harsh unless you are on newly laid tarmac, but to be fair...
Yeah, thats what I thought, but wasnt sure as they hadnt listed it as an option on that car. Oh well, going for a test drive today, should be fun!
Cheers, Dave
I went in to the Renault dealers in Nottingham yesterday and they had a black 182 in the showroom, with the anthracite cup pack wheels, does this mean it definitely has the uprated suspension as well? There was no mention of it on the price stand next to the car, the only option listed was...
I have beaten a few 1.2 16v from the lights in my dci80 with out too much trouble, and the 1.2 16v needs to be thrashed to get any performance out of it, whereas in a dci you just squeeze the throttle at 2,000 rpm and say goodbye to the 1.2.
I have a DCi 80 and even if you rag it round town it still does 50mpg, which is 550 miles to a tank, if you drive like a granny, (55mph on the motorway) you will see 80mpg or more.
Hi, I have a DCi80, and if you rag it around town it will maybe dip below 50, but if she commutes 50 miles a day, she may well get 60 or more, mine will do over 80 if I drive it like a Granny on the M-way.
