Just to clarify the point above - put the copper grease on the BACK of the pads - the bit that the brake piston pushes against. This might stop them squealing.

I have just had my ECU reprogrammed under warranty as the idle speed was too high ater being warmed up, however my car is the 1.2 16v so could be a common problem. I havent had any probs since (touch wood). The only reason they reprogrmmaed the ECU was that they could find no fault with the car??

Lucky you m8 - I recently took the wifes Megane for its frst MOT (Y Reg) and it failed :( CV boot had come off, bulge in rear tyre, braking efficiency on the front - had to renew pads and discs and its only covered 23k miles - they were well scored/grooved. All items not covered by warranty.

I use nothing but Tesco petrol, never had any probs with it. They do have additives as well. Bonus that its cheap and I get my Tesco clubcard points as well!!

I ordered my 1.2 16v Sport Dymanique 6th Aug and got it yesterday. Although it only arrived at the dealers on 31st Aug, which I think is pretty good going considering its one of the busiest times of the year.
