Only thing suggested I've not tried is adding heat.
Tried this, wouldn't budge. Just chewing the bolt heads up.
Much like your input.
Usually is simple although in this case it isn't or else one of the above suggestions would have had this done by now. The only thing I haven't done is...
I've said previously I've done many pads & discs before & never have I had any this hassle to remove a couple of bolts holding on a disc. I'm doing everything that's been suggested & it's still not for happening. Having to grind off the second torx bolt on the same disc smashing away with the...
I've went to do that but now the bolts holding on the disc carrier won't budge. Always something with this car.
I was meaning I'd need to grind away the other 3 torx, 1 on this disc & 2 on the other.
This is as far as I'm getting with the angle grinder, been at it for about 15mins. Any ideas toow long I've got to go? I've still another 3 torx heads to do after this
Wasn't too sure if that was the right disc so thought I'd buy a set of cutting discs as well. Yeah I've got a set of moleys that I'll use to try & remove the thread from the bolt.
Will do cheers mate.
That's what I was using today, initially was working but didn't seem to be that effective...
Got the angle grinder & it came with a thick grinding disc, bought a pack of thin cutting discs as well. Will tackle this tomorrow & hopefully this will be it sorted now. After I've made the X with the angle grinder should I use a chisel/punch/flathead & hammer it anti clockwise yeah? Some carry...
I'll look at punch sets for it. I'll need to drill out that one anyway. Was looking at impact drivers for the remaining bolts, don't know if they do the torx pieces for them though, all seem to be screw heads I've seen.
Need to check what the funds are like first. Always something that should be straightforward that ends up a pain
I have other drill bits but think they aren't big enough, only goes upto 6.5mm.
This is as far as it's gotten -
Yeah they seem like cheap ones. Only borrowed it so have no idea what kind they are. Yes I'm replacing the pads/discs. I've no access to an angle grinder, just a drill atm.
I've not got access to a blow torch or dremel. I'd already tried to spray wd40 & tried hitting it out with a flathead...
After looking on here to see how I can remove the torx bolts I came across this thread -

What I want to know is if anyone has any recommendations as to where I can get a decent set of drill bits to drill mine out...
Does anyone have any idea if any tutorials exist swapping the front hubs & suspension components from a 8v to a 16v clio?
Also how long would this take roughly for the shocks, hub, pads/discs etc to be swapped over for both sides on each car? One will be going to the scrappy anyway hence the...
Yeah I've taken off the scuttle panel & I can't see where it is. I've seen a picture of where it should be, it's on this eBay listing >

This is what mine looks like though >
Any help is greatly...
As above the heater/cooler doesn't work, I was driving with the heater on at 4 & it just stopped, it won't work on hot or cold or any heat settings. The next day it worked but as soon as I turned it off that was it & not worked since. This was about a week or so but due to having the work van I...
Nothing, breakdown came out, he seemed knowledgable on clios as he had one. Took off a sensor gave that a clean & it's sorted now. He said it was a combo of the sensor & the old coil pack being weak. Will keep an eye on it for now so I'm hoping that's it sorted now. Fingers crossed. Thanks for...
Yeah it's the Bosch one for £45 I ordered for ECP when I ordered all the servicing stuff. Could have got one cheaper for about £30 but heard some after market ones can be pretty poor & not last so long. Thought pay a little extra for the piece of mind.
From what I seen when I last looked it was 3 bolts, I thought they where torx bolts right enough. The plugs where just changed recently so will have a look at them as well. Thanks
It seems to work but need to mess about with the socket to get a connection, one slight nudge & it's back to messing about again. Was going to look at getting one of renault to get a price on what it would be. Does it come as the whole unit or just the cig lighter? The lighter doesn't seem to...
Should I just leave it on? Gonna do that tomorrow as I hadn't returned it when I ordered it when it was serviced a few weeks back. How long a drive you reckon I should take it when the coil packs been fitted? Just hoping it's not the head that's gone, with it only just hitting 50k on the clock &...
Yet another problem..
Car was serviced not long ago, just after I purchased it. Had a misfire then but that was due to the plugs being knackered, purchased coil pack but wasn't needed. Also the car had been neglected in terms of regular servicing so had a load of sludge at the neck of the oil...
Had a look & the cig lighter fuse is the same as the radio one, this works. The cig lighter heats up but when I put sat nav or another socket in it doesn't work. Any idea what the problem is? Cheers
