Totally agree. Obviously everyone knows modifications are always money down the drain, and no one modieifies a car to make money, but often modifications end up making a car worth even less than it would be standard.
I recently saw a 182 trophy heavily modified, I think it's a waste as a car...
Most people modify older fast hot hatches. I understand most people want to modify their cars differently but I'd say keep things as close as stock as possible and just clean things up.
From what I've seen its rare to find a Clio 172 or 182 completely stock, so being close to stock is certainly...
Only one Clio so far. A Glacier white 200 which I miss so much. It was fully loaded in terms of options, and drove really well. I'd still have it today if some idiot hadn't taken me off the road.
Coming from turbo cars the only thing I missed was the ease of squeezing more power out, and the...
Not a fan of that colour scheme. To be honest I prefer cars to look as close to stock as possible and the only modifications that interest me are under the bonnet, with only visual modifications being things like bigger 4pot brakes, suspension modifications etc.
Each to their own though...
Well I've come to the conclusion that I defintely want a 182 over the 172s.
Chi has been very helpful and shown me a few cars he has for sale but unfortunately none of them are suitable for me.
So the search for a 182 will continue, preferably in a "bright colour" blue, orange etc (not black)...
I
I just spoke to Chi on the phone and he has a few for sale he mentioned a couple but as he's not local I'm gonna take a look at a few pictures of cars he's got in.
Well I've messaged him and Chi and hopefully will get a response. They might be put off by the fact I've only just joined although everyone has to start from somewhere.
Only reason I joined was to get access to the classifieds due to being messed about by a seller on autotrader.
What appeals...
It certainly looks nice from the pictures and I had a read of the linked threads.
I have sent him a message earlier this morning. Only "issue" is he's not looking to sell for 2 weeks and I'm looking to buy asap.
I travelled over 2 hours to see one recently and the seller wasted my time. Was...
Interior doesn't bother me so I can live with that.
Out of interest in terms of the drive, what are the differences in terms of acceleration, handling and braking between the 200 you had and the 172?
The 200 with cup pack felt like it was glued to the floor, I've never had a car like it (was...
No I didn't want to buy it back. I had the option but I just lost love with it after. I had spent a s**t load in it. I had a new gearbox fitted just before it had been crashed. And was driving a couple of hours each time to get the car serviced in Birmingham. Someone contacted me with a picture...
Cheers for the advice. I've been doing a bit of reading up on them and as you say know that I'd want one with the cambelt done as its one of the most expensive things on the car (service wise) and can have nasty consequences if it hasn't been done.
I know it sounds silly but I prefer the way...
Cheers for the helpful reply. My budget wouldn't stretch to a 197 so that's out of the question.
I'm only looking at spending around 2grand, from what I've seen its either decent 172 money or okish 182 money.
Still gutted about my 200, I absolutely loved it. It wasn't the quickest thing on the...
Hi guys, just signed up in the hope of purchasing a Clio sport from this forum.
I used to have a Clio 200 that I took to Fred at BTM for servicing etc, it was unfortunately written off and I'm now searching for something cheaper (200 was on finance) no longer want finance on a car.
Anyway I...
