Done the timing belt, tensioner, dephaser, water pump and aux belt today. Had some issues getting the exhaust pulley nut undone so ended up taking the rocker cover off to get some heat onto the nut. So the rocker cover got re-sealed as well, which is handy because there was a bit of an oil leak...
Gave it a quick clean and then fitted a Joie 360 seat for the baby. Going to be interesting getting him in and out of there.
Think the baby seat might end up in the front seat rather than the rear bench
Just in case anyone has similar symptoms and ends up searching for this in the future, new plugs and leads seem to have fixed it.
Even though the old NGK plugs were about 3 years old and had less than 30k on them the ceramic had cracked on one of them.
Juddering cleared a bit but was...
My 172 Cup is starting to play up. Symptoms are misfire/judder at low rpm and high loads. Think around the 1400-2200rpm area and a decent amount of throttle. Has a bit of a miss when pulling away occasionally too. But most noticeable in 4th and 5th gear.
Idle is steady and as smooth as one of...
Gave the Cup a much needed bath. Was going to give it a proper going over with the machine polisher but patchy rain put paid to that. It really is in need of some paintwork correction.
Ended up using some old Jeffs Werkstat stuff I had kicking about instead.
Fitted some camber bolts yesterday...
Saw this near my work near Wheatley Hall Road at about 4pm today. Looked like a nice example from what I briefly saw and had a cage of some sort fitted.
Anyone on here?
Replaced the mess of a clutch, release bearing and arm that I found when removing the gearbox.
Gearbox has also had new 3rd to 4th selector fork, clutch guide tube, output shaft bearings, large diff bearing, satellite gears inside the diff, selector seal and some other bits.
Whining noise is...

"Fatty" induction kit. Spark plugs done recently
Speedline Turini wheels refurbed last year, but 2 have some kerbing
New tie rods + ends, balljoints, brake...
If it's on the front you could get both wheels up in the air and then drive it upto 70mph then see if it is from one of the front ones.
Easier to do if you get someone to run it up while you're checking mind.
Couldn't see if there was any CS stickers on it, but there was a clean 05 plate 182 on Turinis at my wife's work today. Apex offices near Balby Morrisons in Doncaster.
Anyone on here?
Couldn't think of a better title so bare with me.
Currently have a BT Home Hub 6 in the master bedroom. That's where the main BT line comes in. Don't know why, was like that when we moved in.
It's a old house with solid walls in the original part then 2 extensions at varying times.
Our issue...
Before I waste timr trying to get through to my local Renault dealer, are the Cup Turini centre caps still available?
8200244716 is the part number on the back of my old ones.
Random thread bump! Do we know if these fit a 172 Cup?
Or seeing as it's a Cup is it another different item from the other ph2 1*2 models?
Not too sold on the idea of spending 80quid on some cables!
Fitted my rear brake compensator that's been leaking for an age, had to make 4 new brake pipes up too as they were all seized into the compensator! Fitted 2 new rear flexis while I was in there too. Bled them all up, set the tyre pressures then had to get out ASAP as the workshop was about to be...
ELK Motorsport in Newark is good, was there last weekend and it's a good track, chilled out marshalls too, but there wasn't a massive group of us and no nutters.
Done Teamsport at Sheffield the other month, we weren't over all 4 levels, think that probably costs extra. Went on the lower track...
Yup running rich to keep the cylinder temps down. Turbo Honda lumps are usually mapped to about 13:1 or even richer on the proper high hp builds to keep the temps down.
Found I barely had to put any pressure on it before the spot was visible. Still, had a crack with it and it's improved the Cup. Ended up using the official DAS pad (supposed to be ideal for 1 stage polishing) and the 2200 menzerna, then topped with a coat of Bilt Hamber wax.
Have to excuse...
Don't think I was pushing too hard, mainly just rested my hand on the top of the machine so it didn't skip about. Definitely wasn't trying to push the thing through the body!
What's the spot on the back of the pad wisdom?
After a bit of advice if possible chaps, treated myself to a DAS6v2, had a quick play with it tonight and I was just wondering if it does take some proper bastid to get a decent level of correction?
I've got the basic CYC Menzerna kit, so used the yellow pad with the 3500 polish, made it shiny...
