Hey buddy, turns out it was two bent pins on the ECU, odd really, put a genuine stat on, straightened them out and put genuine coolant in and all was good :)
Thanks! But I managed to sort the issue... I got myself a multi meter... Checked the voltage, and somehow, it was a bent pin on the ECU... after being as careful as possible for 10 minutes, managed to straighten it out :)
Hello :)
I'm sorry this is my 3rd thread but now this is not the same problem as my other threads :(
This morning on the way to work, the temp gauge didn't move at all... But on some drives it does... yesterday, drove fine and the temp gauge worked... but here is the interesting part, the car...
Thanks everyone, replacing the sensor worked (now responds how it should)..
But now the car is not getting up to temp... I think this might be the aftermarket thermostat I ordered, so placed another order for a genuine one this time :) Hopefully that fixes it
Thanks again!
Hi all (again),
I've replaced the thermostat and engine coolant sensor... The gauge seems to be reading the correct temp now (with no irratic behavor), but the car is not getting up to temp, it gets to about 8 o'clock when I believe it should be about 9 o'clock... But it takes about 20 minutes...
Thanks James, but as far as I am aware, there is no air in the system.. It was doing this before I replaced the thermostat.. So I'm guessing I'm not unlucky enough to have two faulty thermostats
Hi all :)
I'm new here, but I have tried using the search function, but can't find anyone with the same problem :(
The temp gauge in the car seems to have a mind of it's own.. It rarely moves from cold and then when it does, it has a mind of its own.. it can jump up to the temp the car should...
