Its hard to get the ph1 gear knob off without damaging it, but its possible.
I put shifter with knob in freezer, then warm up the knob and stick it on vice with thick rubber to protect ball from scratches. Then attached screw on lower part of the stick and hit it with hammer. And i worked well..
@rosssei I dont remember exactly, but I think I used screwdriver to push it off.
First I was using old top mount with powerflex insert too and I get so much vibration to dashboard. Now with new febi top mount and powerflex insert its OK. So its really worth it to use new mount if your old is worn..
I have same setup with thermostat on ph1. On country road with normal cruising I have oil temp 85-90°C, with fast driving its about 100°C. Max oil temp was 120°C last week on small circuit (2nd gear was used most of the time). All measured with Stack stepper gauge.
