1.5 DCI, when my right foot is to the floor the engine warning light comes on. It goes off again as soon as I stop accelerating hard. No loss of power, no other symptoms.
Any ideas?
Can anyone recommend a DIY code reader?
Just went to rotate my tyres and noticed the rears have worn very strangely.
The outer half is OK, but the inner half has worn in stripes, so I now have a 20 sided tyre.
Anyone else seen this? Perhaps I should ask Goodyear.
They are the proper German ones, bought from mytyres.
We both have cars at the moment, but should really consolidate, as she did less than 1000 miles last year.
We can't keep her car as it is too small, but she hates driving mine. Actually it's worse than that, she refuses to drive it!
Test drove a Swift Sport and a Cooper S earlier, and was...
I've got 3 numbers from their catalogue:
0 258 005 136
0 258 006 294
0 258 986 507
Which one is correct for a late ph1 172?
The Bosch website is f**king useless...
My fronts have worn more on the inner edge than the rest of the tyre.
How much do you guys reckon is down to my driving or the way the ph1 is set up, or is it pissed?
The last set that came off weren't as bad as this, so I'll get the alignment checked.
My alarm keeps going off when I open the doors. It used to do it if I opened the doors too quickly after disarming it, but now it is doing it more often, say 5 seconds after disarming.
Anyway it's embarrasing, so if someone could tell me how to disable it that would be great. PM is fine as...
Just got a new card through from the RAC and noticed that their terms and conditions had changed.
The most obvious was that it said they would not cover any costs as a result of not having a serviceable spare wheel and tyre.
Doesn't sound good for 172 CUP and 182 owners.
Once the new clio has been out for a couple of years, what parts do you reckon people will be swapping onto older 172/182s?
Entire engine/box?
Inlet manifold?
Someone probably knows already what's going to fit and whats not...
One of mine has decided to dump it's contents onto the road...
I assume they are easy to replace? Nut at the top, bolt at the bottom - or is there something else involved?
Thanks
I was wondering wether the 182 manifold could be cut and connectors added at the secondaries to make it easier to retrofit.
Obvious problems I can think of are not being able to do up the fasteners on the connectors, and not being able to remove the old manifold!
Never having tried removal...
Its renewal time:(
If I go with Churchill its £591, but if I go with the Nationwide its £778.
Heres the interesting bit: Nationwide say that if you find a better quote they will refund double the difference....
Ive read the small print and it says all details must be identical, and as far...
I was scrabbling about under my 172 the other week (putting the plastic sump bit back as it was left hanging off after a service!), and thought the exhaust manifold was a 4-1 design, followed by a parallel pair of cats.
Looking at the picture in the other thread of the trophy, it looks like...
The rigid brake pipe on my rear right caliper has been rubbing against the handbrake cable. Its on the corner as it bends from the beam to the trailing arm.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Im getting it replaced as it has worn a large flat and I dont want it to wear through!
Its a 4...
Should 172 rear discs come with the abs ring fitted, or do you have to remove it from the old disc?
If you have to use the old one, any tips on removing it? It doesnt want to come off!
Cheers
The rev limiter on my 172 cuts in at around 6700 rpm in first and second gear - Im sure it used to cut in later?
Does anyone know where the ECU gets the "Im in first or second" signal from? I figure there must be a switch or something on the gearbox...
