come on, how many miles has everyones 172s done?

ok ive done some insurance quotes and i can finally afford the insurance for a 172!! so i just wondered from the owners if you could advise me on what to do. do i either... get one now, either sell or trade in my 2001 y reg 1.6 16v and get one thats done about 60-80k or wait a few months...

im lookin for a 172 at the moment mate, my cheapest quote has been £1800 FC with admiral and im 20 with 3 yrs no claims and thats with my dad as named driver. how do u others get cheaper quotes???? or is this about right?

i dont know mate. just wanna get it fixed for a little as possible as i was looking for a new car anyway so am gonna be p/x ing it over the next month or so anyway so i can get a 172

well mechanic is coming to look at it in a bit and try and give me a diagonisis without messing about with it, if he thinks its what cupcake says then im goin straight down to renault and playing absolulte f**k with them and not leaving showroom til they do something abou it!

not new its a 2001 y reg bought second hand no warrenty cos had it a year, but if it is what u think it is renault had it a couple of months ago to fix engine managment problem and took head off to do something with it. not touched it since then. is there anything i can do? im not in AA, and how...

if anyone has any advise on what i can say to the renault garage tomorrow if this is the case it would be very helpful im gettin mechanic out tomorrow to see what he thinks and if he says its the spark plug then im goin straight to renault can i sue them for negligence if they have done...

i had an engine managment fault and it went back a few times because they kept replacing parts that didnt fix it so they pretty sure they took the head off to do something. it fixed the fault but im sure they took head off so they must have taken head off!!!! grrrrr by the way they also left it...

i was just about to ask that! last time spark plug was out was at renault garage about 1/2 months ago. if this really is the case is there anything i can do? wow im so angry now just at the thought that this could be whats happened!

the smell from the exhaust is a bad egg smell, how much to fix it if it is a cat convertor gone? spark plug is still in place and everything theres just oil seaped out the sides of it, its not really spitting out but its covered in oil all over

yeah i know mate, i once saw a pic with those sort of wheels on and from then on i knew i had to have them. was a bit nervous when i went to pick them up as to whether id made the right choice but im really happy with the result and i now know i made the right choice.

yeah i think it probably is. it was lowered already when i bought it so i have no idea how low it actually is.

yeah it has i think its about 40mm or something like that. wheels fit perfectly with too no rubbing or scraping what so ever.

What? can you really do that? i thought u couldnt. i had a scooter but didnt use my no claims. am i missing something or have i just been wasting a years no claims when i could have been using it
