Thanks for your comments. Steering wheel is from a forum member called "Snappy" do a search, you'll find him. His work is exemplary....the wheel was £150 retrimming my current one

I do in fairness, I wanted the car back though and in the grand scheme of things it's a small detail. I'll probably take them off and do them myself!

Bit of an update folks, car has been away for a week or so having the paint rectified. Got her back today having had the wheels refurbed and the paint issues taken care of. It was like being reacquainted with an old friend.....oooohh how I've missed my Trophy! Also, had a delivery from K-Tec...

Small update, I have been otherwise engaged with work and stripping my 205! Snappy steering wheel: Very, very pleased. Also restored my headlights, Before: After: £10 kit off eBay! I'm not 100% happy with the end result but an enormous improvement. Cheers for looking

Wanted Turinis as thats what the car is meant to be on. Coupled with the fact that I didn't like the 2118's that where on the car when I bought it. See the first picture :grinning: Turned out well as the 2118's are a quite desirable and didn't take much to sell

Thoroughly enjoying the car! Although changing to 16" wheels from 15's has clearly thrown out the geometry as the wheel bearings are making a racket...replacements needed! Steering Wheel being sent to Snappy this weekend for a re-trim and should be going in for the paint in the next week to...

Agreed, but it's a second car for me. Won't use it daily so will put minimal mileage on it. Weekend toy, got a 205 mi16 for track use that I'm building. Might do a Nurburgring trip in her in the summer next year

Only something small but I think it tidies up the rear no end and adds a little modern edge... :smirk:

It's definitely not a scrubbing noise and it also isn't noticeable until you get to 60-70mph

Worth mentioning that the cars camber was set up on the 15" wheels so could putting the 16's have caused the bearings to now be noisy?

Morning all.... After putting my Turinis on my Trophy (previous was 15" 2118's), it appears to have developed a whiring noise. Sounds like a wheel bearing but wasn't there before? Also a 'clunk' when coming to a stand still on the brakes.... annoying.....any ideas?

Love a Mk1, sent my Tungsten grey ph1 to Hill Power and it came back with 187bhp at the wheels! Absolutely rapid, sold it for £3,000 8 years ago! It sickens me to think what it would fetch now! Full of character and a piece of piss to work on. Keep it! If I didn't have a 205 in the garage...
