Finally got around to starting to fit my Pierre Gasly Golds. OSF went fine, no issues there. NSF has fought me the entire time. I've got the rears to do shortly and I'm expecting that to be a fight too.
Finally got around to stripping the dash and dash bar out, heater out and got the front half of my cage in and ready for the feet to be welded in. Bit of a faff and the next time I put a full cage in a car, I'll be paying someone else to do it!
Not today because I haven't long crawled out of bed but yesterday I gave the little TCe Clio a service and finished fitting the parts cannon delivery to the front suspension to make sure it doesn't keep knocking like a t**t. Great success! Drives really well now so I may just keep it.

I have a Corbeau Pro-series X in my Clio and it's SUPER comfy, however the sides are very tall so it's a bit of a chore to get in and out of. I'd probably spend my money on something like this - https://www.corbeau-seats.com/product-page/pro-sport
If going fixed back I'd avoid anything with a...
I did a booking. Went with group C, depending on how far I get with race car prep, there may or may not be a passenger seat but if there is then I'm happy for anyone to come for a spin (hopefully not a spin anyway)
Today I've mostly been swearing at the cheap and cheerful MK3 Clio I bought as a runaround. The balljoints were both shagged and the LCA bushes were past their best so I've fitted new lower arms, new track rod ends and generally spent the day regretting my life choices
It'll be up for sale...
Massive build thread on that one here - https://clio197.net/threads/extra-stripey-gordini-recaro-pics-added.53260/
He spent a LOT of money doing things right on that car.
I did Cadwell one January with Opentrack, the track was frozen in places but nobody died. You'll be fine Dave, just follow me around and you'll be safe.
EDIT - I knew I had the photo somewhere. Hardest part was staying upright in the paddock!

Probably been mentioned in here before but these Dutch guys make some good content, mostly BMW E36 related but worth a watch for sure.
Continued stripping the Clio tonight for race prep. Took the half cage out tonight and found some... Well.. Oh...
It'll be fine... To be fair I've looked inside the sill and it all looks clean and tidy, this is just where the arch liner clip goes onto. It'll get plated tomorrow when the cage...
Dashboard fell out tonight. And by 'fell' I meant that I swore at it and cried and stubbed my fingers and generally got shitty with it until I managed to pull it out.
Dash bar needs to come out next so I can remove the heater matrix ready for the micro heater and cage to go in. Building a race...
A few years ago I stripped the rear of my 197 out, fitted a half cage and realised the boot floor vibrates like a motherfucker, so I put some sound deadening down. That was a mistake.
Today I've been taking out the sound deadening. This s**t never went hard so it's been an hour per section so...
Prep for Knockhill, just a checkover and a service. It shows how s**t the cars are when it's easiest to get the oil filter off by removing the front bumper.
Absolute cretins deciding that the oil filter needs a coolant hose right below it.
Facebook reminded me of something too.
Classic.
Few days ago now but me and a mate beat the ever-loving piss out of the Clio. Burned a litre of oil, 90 litres of fuel, a set of tyres and a set of pads in 200 track miles.
What a beast.
Haven't touched the 197 since I parked it up a few months ago after an evening session at Snetterton so of course I've left it to the last minute as usual, trackday booked for Tuesday and the car needs discs and pads all round, tyres swapped front to rear, a service and a general check over...
They've both got the correct level of cartism which makes them easy to watch and the podcasts are great. Looking forward to the cheap track car challenge they're doing next but it's a collab with AutoAlex so hopefully it's not full cringeworthy shite.
No photos as I was driving but on the M11 today I saw a Ferrari Mondial. Even better was that it was being piloted by what appeared to be a 125 year old woman! The car looked really tidy, the old lady however looked like that bowl of fruit that you neglect and it goes all wrinkly, bruised and fuzzy.
