@PP172 thanks mate, it is less common in that colour which I quite like! In all honesty having driven it for 2 years as a daily, it was not too bad, but im glad not to have to do it anymore. The suspension is very harsh and I would be trying to avoid potholes like the plague, whereas in my...
Cheers mate, I have but when fitted it wouldn't lock properly and the inner part of the cap came free, so I'm going to take it work and glue the two halves together and try again, couldn't get the bit with the seal out last time so hoping it works properly after I've bonded it together
Well I've managed to get the battery cover bracket made, it's not amazing by any stretch but does the job. There's a few pics of the engine cover on aswell but if you see closely it looks a bit naff. Going to get it redone I think when I get the car to a bodyshop otherwise I'm just not going to...
Haha good point! There's a lot of money to spend yet, mainly on the bodywork and wheels, before intercooler and even thinking interior, in all honesty I think I'll probably not bother as it's unlikely I'll have the spare cash and even the aforementioned jobs might have to wait a little while 😅
Just a thought, what's people's opinions on swapping the standard interior out for the R26 interior? It keeps cropping up but realistically it's a good £6-700 for the leather interior, and then I'd only have to find room to store the original as I would want to keep it. I'm thinking more along...
Small update, had some white LED's delivered so updated the interior lights and also the number plate bulbs, pretty happy with the difference!
And another thing I'm chuffed with, managed to fix the boot interior light that I found the lense too a few weeks ago, turned out some of the pins were...
And finally the most recent job I've done (today) has been to fit some number plate surrounds that I got off a guy on Facebook. Was initially toying with the idea as didn't know if they looked too cheap or tatty on the car, but thought I'll try it as if I don't like it I can always sell them on...
Also checked the air filter whilst I was making the cardboard template for the battery cover. Removed that, hoovered the debris off it and re-fitted as it's in very good condition, should be really as it's only around 13K old.
Also, when cleaning up the interior, I've noticed one of the clips...
And done a bit of tidying on the interior fabric, didn't realise how grotty it was as before it was used from the get go as my only car, now ive had the time to properly go through it I'm noticing the details a bit more. The sun visors have been cleaned as they were stained and grubby and the...
No major updates for the megane really, few little jobs done, keeping myself occupied whilst at home. Made myself a battery cover template ready for when I go back work (looking to be soon) then I'll get it made out of aluminium.
Not a bad idea using the numberplate to be fair! I haven't got one spare plus I'll be liberating two M6 stainless bolts to fit it so I'll tap the aluminium to take it 😎 sounds good, I've been debating what to do really wether I should get one or not, is that as easy to fit as it looks? I've got...
That looks ace mate, just the kind of thing I'm hoping to do, I was thinking of using aluminium as it will be easy to cut to shape. Just noticed your induction filter, did you fit that in your ownership or was it already on? Debating getting one for mine
How do you mean mate? I think I can see some self tappers from the back side of the card into the handle, I've undone the two torx bits but only then seen the self tappers into the back, I've used some tar remover and rubbed all the coating off on the fronts so didn't want to do it in place in...
Done a few other little bits aswell, restored trim on the roof and round mirrors etc with some C4 trim restorer. And sprayed the battery retention bracket as it was corroded to sh*t
Plans for it are to get the wheels refurbed, paint looked at, and potentially a bigger Intercooler just to give it an easier life. It's already mapped but I think I'm going to get this checked, don't want huge power from it just want it running a safe figure that will last rather than pushing...
Another small job I've done is remove the rubbery coating off the inside door pull handles, I need to remove the back half at some point but a bit reluctant to do so as I hate removing the door cards.
Next thing I'm going to do is get someone to lacquer it for me, then I'll put the stickers back on the engine cover. Does anyone know where to get the Renault/elf battery cover sticker from? As the one on it is fairly crinkled. And also need to wait till I can get back to work to make a bracket...
Well, not much has happened to be honest in the past few days, but I have given it a clean and a coat of ceramic wax, and happy to say it does make a nice difference when it's raining like it is today! Other than that, I've also sorted the engine cover out and that's now primed and most of the...
I will do mate no problem at all, what would your advice be for me to do? Kind of feel like I'm settling for second best if I just stick it on and leave it
Looking at them on the post above I'm already liking the silver more. If I was to sell the LY one is it possible to vapour blast or along the lines of to remove all the paint off the original and use a filler primer to mask the scratches?
