i dont what is wrong with my gear box, as i change gears when driving alone if i push it in with a lil force it makes a crunch noise, it hasnt gone, it mite be on its way. it was serviced last year so could it be the gear box oil ? or the gear box going?

i just took out my rear seats so i ca n fit a roll cage in but i notice i have wholes in the floor which wont b covered by the roll cage so what would you give as a opinion for using under the roll cage. I was finking carpet but im not 100% sure if i should
