    Almost bought a 212bhp Willy

How much did he want? If it is a real minter just take the NOS off. Trust me youll save yourself a shed load of time. Some people take years looking for a decent Williams. Its not uncommon for a Williams to make that sort of power. I beleive Flaming Monkeys Willy made 131 BHP atw at a recent...

    valver or williams 1

It group 17. Will cost the same a s a Valver to run. Overall a much more accomplished car than the Valver. Isnt much better in any respect but add together all the little refinments and its a better complete package. If you buy a bad example will cost anything as low as £1K If you go mid...

    valver or williams 1

Its worth whatever you want to pay. If you see a good one id pay whatever it takes as the dont become available very often.

    valver or williams 1

Yeah got to agree, 13 BHP isnt worth the extra cash. I mean who wants a car that holds its value, is rare, gets lots of attention, has a famous name, outperforms most modern cars in its class, is economical, its serious fun and is worth more than an eqivalent valver even after its been written...

    Almost bought a 212bhp Willy

The harder you drive the car the more it will wear. The more tuned it is the harder it will be driven. Therefore, all things being equal, the more tuned an engine the quicker it will wear. Plus you can build up a picture of the person who drives the car from what is done to it. Fitting NOS...

Neither do fast road cams damage the engine, but i wouldnt buy a Williams with fast road cams. When buying a Williams standard is the name of the game. Only two types buy tuned Williams 1. Paul Mitchel (after they have been wrapped around a tree) 2. Fools IMO of course;)

    Almost bought a 212bhp Willy

If NOS has been fitted it gives you an idea about how the car has been driven. I doubt this guy ever takes it easy. If you want a Williams you are better getting one owned by a middle aged man, completely standard, which has been used with respect. If you want it to be trouble free and last, i...

    Newbie flame-ball thread - Lowering = poo

Just out of interest does anyone claim here to have an ideal or as near ideal setup for dry weather driving from coilovers? Ie has anyone found the sweet spot for coilovers in the dry (in talking about road use)? Or to put it another way has anyone pushed the envolope of setup to a fairly...

Ok lets just agree to disagree. Those who want to lower their car do so. We conceed that the handling may be improved under certain circumstances*. Those who dont want to lower there car dont. And while the lowering posse is pissing about with coilovers in some dark garage somewhere, well...

And loony, Saying that your car was setup with laser alignment as used on race cars so it must be an improvement is a bit like saying your house built by Chris Tarrent so it must be worth a million pounds. Setup is about understanding how the car reacts to different inputs and how to change...

    Newbie flame-ball thread - Lowering = poo

    1. If you are going to drive on the road why lower your car? A standard Williams, 172 or any fast car is more than capable of performing well within its limits if safe driving is adhered to. It really doesnt have to be improved by a forum educated expert. 2. If you are going to drive in...

LMAO. How are you going to accurately assess the adhesion of the tyres, the balance of the car, the propensity for the car to break away, the traction over bumps, if you dont drive the car flat out? No race driver can accurately predict what a change will do to a car until he takes it out and...

Ok, lets all stop pretending to be race engineers and flag down a black cab back to reality, A few points worth considering: 1. Most people who lower their cars are not qualified to comment on its performance as a race car. You have to therefore treat their lowering improved handling...

    Megane 225 better than mk2 V6

Is that the R19 16V Ferrous Radical special that Renault released? Thats not fair though because the R19 had the specially engineered iron oxide weight reduction system (IOWRS). IMO of course;) [Edited by Willy Williams on 29 December 2004 at 3:12pm]

    Megane 225 better than mk2 V6

Was a MK2 Yoz. Another member of this forum drove the same car and agreed with me. Maybe it was a bad example. Or maybe it was because he owned a Williams. I dont know. But i would be gutted if id spent 25k on it. I can see why people like them, but they just dont do anything for me.

It’s winter if you hadn’t noticed

Looking at the various forums on this site, it seems that hardly a few days can go past without another driver crashing his car. Seems a common tale that i hit a patch of ice and just slid into a curb / another car. Now i know that some accidents are caused by failures or other drivers, so my...

    Megane 225 better than mk2 V6

No offense to V6 owners but when i drove one it felt: 1. Nervous 2. Unstable 3. Heavy 4. Uninvolving Sure they make a nice sound, but i really cant see the attraction of them. More of a gimmick than a sports car. IMO of course;)
