    4 point harness?

If you have completion seats fitted and they have a slot to facilitate a six point harnesss then I would go for that. In a head on you can 'submarine' out of a 4 point. I moved to a six point harness and feel much safer. If you are not mounting to a roll cage make sure the fittings are done in...

Making my hillclimb Clio look a little more exciting

Hi Jame Hi James, yes I recognise your car from Harewood. I have ordered some yellow roof graphics ( squares) but if they are not up to scratch and/or I mess up applying them , I'll be looking for some to do it professionally so thanks and see you at Harewood!

Making my hillclimb Clio look a little more exciting

Hi Jon, Hope you are well. Yes, I did Rally Harewood finishing third in class and people took hundreds of pictures and posted them up but my car hardly figures at all☹️ Thanks for the endorsement. Work will start shortly!

Making my hillclimb Clio look a little more exciting

I wanted something that was simple to put into effect. I think I prefer the original registration😂

Making my hillclimb Clio look a little more exciting

Thanks for the input. I used ChatGPT, for the mock up. The roll cage and calipers are yellow so thought would continue the theme.

Making my hillclimb Clio look a little more exciting

I am thinking about making my hillclimb Clio look a bit more exciting and to stand out more on the hills. Last year I did a rally hillclimb and car seemed to attract little attention compared to most of the rally cars doing the event which were more brightly coloured. So here goes: Current To...

Rallye Harewood Saturday 13th December 2025

Rallye Harewood, just been confirmed I have an entry for this hillclimb event with a difference!! The event takes place on Saturday 13th December and will consist of several timed runs in the daylight and at night up the hill climb course. Over 80 cars entered and many 'proper' rally cars...

    Harewood Hill Paddock

Hi Ed, good to see you today. Unfortunately the misfire got worse to I called it a day after the first timed run. At least I have until April next year to get it sorted!

    Harewood Hill Paddock

Hi Ed, Yes I'm there tomorrow. Today was terrible, rained all day and my tyres are low on tread, so 5th place out of nearly 40 was OK. Hopefully better weather tomorrow!

    Harewood Hill Paddock

Hi Ed, Good to meet you too! Was not my best day had a few issues and a misfire so my worst result of this season with 4th. I only managed two out of four timed runs due to loss of spark (the car not me) but now sorted. Loved your Trophy, must rank up there amongst the best around!

    Japanese cars... but not Japanese

This can happen with cars imported from the US as well. My son nearly bought a Corvette which had been imported to the UK from Germany. But after doing checks it had been crashed ( written off) in US, exported to Germany where it was repaired and ran for 2 years , then imported to UK.

    Japanese cars... but not Japanese

I've purchased six Japanese Imports over the years and they have all been relatively rust free and been great cars and 4x4's. They do still rust as they only have a few layers of paint on them but at a much slower rate due to the absence of salt on their roads. Any import will need...

    Engine Dynamics - Experiences?

As my original thread has been recently 'bumped' I would just like to say over three years later my engine built by Engine Dynamics is still performing faultlessly. I would highly recommend ED

Mystery device fitted to car..what is it?

Hi, it is wired into the injection harness so we are loath to touch it. At least we know this is not an alarm my so he is not going to be left stranded f it fails.

Mystery device fitted to car..what is it?

My son has just purchased a 2013 BMW X5 and we have subsequently found a device hidden away in the engine bay. Unfortunately the previous owner had passed away (purchased from the estate) so unable seek information on the device. There are no names or codes on the device, but it lights up...

    Clio 172 race mods

I would concur with Jon, Putting ITB's on an otherwise relatively standard engine is a waste of money ( I speak from personal experience!) ass thet will generalte hardly any improvement. ITB's come into their own with head mods and cams, again I speak from experience as Jon's with 226BHP was...

    New Clio 182 Track Project

Hi, I fitted CL RC6 pads to the Clio because they worked really well from cold which is great for hillclimbing as the brakes never get hot, (unlike a trackday) hence std pads in the rear brakes. In the Fiesta I'm now hill climbing I'm using add pads all round and they are working really well...

    New Clio 182 Track Project

Hi, Just seen your post, I had a lightweight flywheel fitted when the engine was rebuilt, there should be a receipt for it in the file I gave you. ...and yessit is quick isn't it!! Tony

    New Clio 182 Track Project

I'll be watching this thread of course. The Yokohama A052's are THE list 1B hillclimb tyres for the road going cars as they heat up quickly so would be interested to know how they perform on track, otherwise they will probably sell well as there are approaching £200 a corner new.

    ITB’s gains

Mine made 195 bhp on Jenvey ITB's with Gen90 ecu on a well worn (130k) engine. Now making 220bhp with rebuilt engine, cams and light head work. Mapped at EFI so genuine figures. Seems some rolling roads register 10bhp+ before you even start the engine.

Am I wasting my time with cooksports/cup shocks?

When I fitted coilovers to my car I had the camber /castor/ corner weighted etc. professionally set up by Track Torque near Wetherby and the difference was incredible. I set the car up as best I could myself then tried it at one event ( ran out of time to get it professionally sorted) before...
