I used to be a subscriber a couple of years back, haven't read it for ages. I had a quick browse through this months, looks ok. What ever happened to Bovingdon? I used to enjoy his writing in particular
Yep mine can sound like a bag of bolts at times, and a bit whiney too, always been like this, it's never failed though.....touch wood. Did you lose your speedo mate, I have to use an SPA speedo with mine, but I think it's the older design...
There's been a Gripper LSD fitted to my Williams for about 7 years and hasn't needed a rebuild so far and I have used it as an everyday car. I change the gear oil every 2 years but that's all the maintenance I have done! It is noisy and can be a bit clonky at low speed, but the benefits to the...
There are loads of Cliosports in Chester, I always see a racing blue 182 with a Hillpower sticker parked in Total Fitness, and there's a 172 exclusive with pro race wheels parked on City Road most days, not sure if the owners come on here though...

Where abouts in Runcorn are you?
I always use Grangeside in Weston, been taking my Clio Williams there for years. Their people skills aren't the best but I do recommend them as they always do a good job for reasonable money, I'm sure they could sort your tracking out...
I don't rate de-cats, mine lost all low down torque when I had mine on, but each to their own, you do free up some power top end. I agree about brakes, just refresh standard system, oh and get yourself some braided lines too...
Thanks for the comments guys, I own the Williams 1 in the photo's. Jamies is a very nice example of a Williams 3, was good to meet another Williams enthusiast!
maz - yes it can do a full lock. It is unchanged from when it was a hill climb car so is probably not the best set up for the road...
Hi
I have a plate Gripper lsd on my Williams, it is also lowered on stiffened koni's and has a strut brace and negative camber. It can be a bit of a handful on bumpy roads and it's loud (sounds like a bag of bolts on tick over and whiny like straight cut gears!) but I love it, traction and...
You're from Runcorn? I always take my Williams to a garage called Grangeside in Weston, I've used them for years, the only local garage I trust tbh. Their customer skills aren't the best, but I do recommend them as they always do a good job and don't charge ridiculous rates....
Has anybody used these, just after some feedback on the quality of their work. Been looking for a decent body shop in the Runcorn/Warrington area and Palatine have been recommended to me
Like any old french hot hatch, Williams can be fragile, some are ok and problem free, others can be a nightmare! Mine had it's fair share of problems in the first 2 years, although saying that it was hassle free last year! I still wouldn't want any other car tho!! I say keep the Williams!
Another Runcorn CS member....we're a rarity! I live just around the corner from you opposite Runcorn East Station. If you see a Williams 1 around that will be me, altho it spends most of the time under a cover these days!
I remember a while ago someone on here mentioned about mixing AG super resin polish with AG extra gloss, it was a tip from the concours boys, I can't find the post, just wondered if this actually works as well as putting them on seperately?
