Not much damage as such but the mark was at least two inches in length. It wasnt deep or anything but still, it needed to be done. The finished job was nothing short of excellent.

I doubt very much that the cause is Optimax. I cant remember the last time I used Optimax and my 182 suffers with this odd behaviour pretty much every day. :-(

I agree, although depending on what "mcoppen" is used to, he may find the ride a little too harsh.
Here are my observations of the problem, assuming it is similar to what is being discussed...
1) It isnt constant but sadly happens more often than not.
2) It literally does not wish to exceed 2000 revs until at least 45 seconds later when things kick in as normal.
3) Very frustrating!
You can pretty much negotiate anything with the dealer (within reason of course). I picked up my 182 with all the extras excluding sat nav for under 12.5K which is a fair whack off what it should have cost. As for the Recaros - go for it. Seriously. Apparently 10mm lower, they look stunning and...
