My MK2 172 has just turned 3 years old and i have had nothing but trouble with in the last two months, i have had all the relays changed and a new set of clocks due to the trip computer resetting itself all the time and now this unstable idling

This is a reply to lou_m, my 172 has the same unstable idle as well, but mine seems to get worse the hotter the car gets, but when i took it down to the main dealer i bought it from they had it for full day and when i got it back they said there was nothing wrong with, but it still does it now...

Well i am glad my 172 isnt the only one that drops two knotches after 50 miles, i thought the fuelling was wrong, plus there is more chance of winning the national lottery jackpot on a wednesday and saturday in the same week than getting 420 miles out of a 172 tank, lol

I know what you mean my 172 does the same, but out of interest how many miles do you get to a full tank? As i struggle to get above 230 miles to a full tank and thats not raggin it all the time

I dont think i have ESP on my clio 172, but tonight i was following a slow ass audi, so i put into second and booted it past him but when i got to 6400rpms the rev limiter kicked in which is very fustrating, there is still at lot to go, hope it is not losing power, and it was a running...

I am a bit worried about my clio sport 172, I cant seem to get it past 7000rpms and the rev limiter kicks in at 6400rpms, Two questions i have to ask are: Can you take the 172 into the red line? If you can has mine been setup with a crap rev limter? Please Help??
