sounds like the gearbox mounting! mines just been in to renault but after three weeks the noise is back!

my 172 mkII developed a knocking noise on hard acceleration. took it to renault dealer and they found that the gearbox mount had moved. they repositioned and the noise went away. three weeks later the noise is back. it's going back to the dealer to sort. has anyone had this problem before?

is the 4k rattle from the exhaust baffles? could you expand on the "dog bone mount" where is it and what does it do?

ok had a closer look. gaitors are fine. the car has konis all round so is sitting a bit lower than standard. the wheels rub very slightly on the front plastic wheel arch liner when turning hard! but this is not the noise! the noise sounds like a metal rattle at high revs through 1st and...

hi people i have a clio 172 03 plate. on hard acceleration there seems to be a noise comeing from the drive shaft areas. is this a known fault. any help or suggestions would be good
