30 in March and still love driving the 172. Had it for 5 years now. Just forked out for a new cambelt/aux and dephaser so I'll be keeping it for the next few years. If you keep it totally standard you'll be OK. You'll only look like a dick if your driving around on 19s, decatted, silvervisions...

Glad I'm not the only one who struggles with this. First time I did the 172 it came off easy. Last time I was battling for an hour in the rain before I realised I was tightening the c**t up! Turn right to left iirc. A tip I've found is to wear rubber gloves to get a good grip on it.

Hi Cliosport. Long time no speak! Looking under the engine on the 172 I noticed you can still see the bottom of the Aux belt. Am I missing a cover as there seem to be holes for something!?!?! Thanks,
