Lol, decisions decisions. We were intending to go to the RR day if we hadn't have got the Clio done. If you decide to drop in to Blyton, come over and say hello, always good to meet another Clio enthusiast.
Thanks, we are quite pleased with it too. We are just doing a trackday at Blyton, it was the closest, soonest venue available. We know the place well so can just get a feel for the car and make sure everything is ok.
Thankyou, really looking forward to see how it goes on the stages. There are quite a few Clios out there rallying and I know of a few more being built so should be fun.
Mate, it is beyond epic. We will probably stay with the engine as it is to be fair, at least for a while. Wouldn't want to lose reliability and certainly wouldn't do anything without having a chat with you first. I know Chris has seen the engine before but he absolutely loved the way it went...
Thankyou, they are a serious amount of money but by 9pm last night when we were strapping it back on the trailer, worth every penny. Hopefully after setup on Wednesday the suspension will also prove worth the investment
I'm not sure to be fair, we just let Chris set it all, he did say he didn't go too extreme, wanted to make sure it was safe. It works brilliantly and that's all we were concerned with. Got suspension setup on Wednesday and then a bit of testing next Sunday.
Well, that was a long day! Left East Yorkshire at 7am heading for a quick bit of shopping at Demon Tweeks before heading on to Efi. Bought 2 Simpson Hybrid HANS devices and a couple of other bits.
Got to Efi at 1pm to find that Chris had been double booked a.m and p.m so was really under...
The engine sounds epic mate and is a testament to your skills. We hope we have done it justice with the rest of the build and can't wait to see what she'll do.
Managed to get some tyres on one set of wheels temporarily so we can take it to Efi on Saturday. Refitted the bonnet and bumpers after a trip to the paint shop and labelled up the Cartek panel. Final inspection performed by Dave ? and he said he was happy ?
Things all coming together now. Booked in @ Efi on the 15th, Tracktorque for suspension setup on the 19th and trackday booked at Blyton on the 23rd to give it a systems check. Fellow Clio rally pilot kindly lent us a 2118 to check caliper clearance worked so got to order a few of those tomorrow...
Managed to get a bit more done after work today. Mostly finishing off jobs and fitting the MSA required tow straps and mudflaps. Passenger seat and both harnesses to go in and we should be about there for the MSA scrutineer to logbook on Saturday.
Thought it was time for an update as we are finally coming to the end of the build. I'll get some more pictures up tomorrow as these are a week or two out of date but give an idea of how it's looking. MSA scrutineer coming to log book it on Saturday, all we have left to do is put the navigators...
Well, that has taken a while! A combination of work and a few complications stalled progress but the finish line is now in sight. The original idea of a dog box having gone up in smoke lead to a brand new Sadev box and a philosophy to try and incorporate the best of components. We have ended up...
I bought it already track modified, it's still in great condition though. Took my good lady on a track day and she loved it so much she wanted her own track car so I bought this for her to use. Safety Devices cage, BC DR coilovers, K-tec stealth, OMP WRC seats and 6 point harnesses and now...
Makes a massive difference getting it all set up correctly. New BC's and PM RARB going on the new track car and going to CGR Automotive for corner weighting and full geometry setup. Can't wait to see the difference.
Had confirmation that my copy was delivered by Amazon. Unfortunately stuck on a sunbed in Kos lol. Fly back tonight so tomorrow's plan is setting up wheel and seat and getting some laps in.
Wobble bolts are a less than perfect solution to get you from say 98mm to 100mm PCD or 110mm to 112mm. No way on earth they will do 108mm to 100mm. If they were sold to you as 100mm they have been described incorrectly so you should return and get a refund.
That's mega mate, I know you've been looking forward to this do much, looks like you've got a fantastic day for it. Meanwhile on terra firma, looks like I'm probably going to be buying another of your old engines!
