chances are it wont start, if it did start it would misfire like hell and most likely give the car the small chance it needs to have some valve/piston contact

+1 compression test is the only way to be certain, the blow will also be visable on the gasket when taken apart

fixed or prime lenses often offer greater sharpness and are often faster than the equivelent focal length zoom lens, the concept of having a fixed lens my seem weird at first but as you progress you will find a prime lense is often a necessity

one of them is a 50mm prime lens the other is a teleconverter which lengnthens the focal length of the lens it is fitted before

also i dont think the d40/d40x has an internal focusing motor on the body, so it will only be nikon autofocus lenses if u want autofocus iirc

+1 also went for the nikon without having a "play" with the cannon first, after a year i still feel i made the correct choice :)

could possibly be due to the damp weather, when u wash your car u can see a film of surface rust after its dried on the brake discs now this can also happen to the drums on the back due to the air being damp when the car isn't driven for a good few hours, happens alot with the weather being as...
