Yes of course, the LED is linked to the lights hence the third wire, when i tested the light blue wire it didnt show a voltage but i didnt have the lights on meaning it wouldn't....:o
Good point about ignition controlled voltage but this is ok as generally i only want it powered when ignition...
Want to wire my tomtom into my 182 so it has a constant neat power supply.
I have a new ciggy lighter socket (want to wire this into car power supply then hide behind dash) and will use the existing tomtom in car ciggy power lead as this steps down the voltage to 5volts and has a 2Amp fuse...
Also have a tomtom 500 and 182 and never got a good signal. Got an external aerial and now get a full signal all the time. Very easy to fit and run the wire through the car, i put the tomtom aerial behind the main car aerial, looks very neat.
