and when you say cranks for a few seconds but doesnt fire ?? does it stop cranking ?? or keep trying as long as you keep the key in the crank position ?

you didnt hit the fuel stop button thing ? i assume all clios have these, including 182s did he pull all fuses and check them ? even the big main one(s) ? i would check with a multimeter for continuity. he might have had 3 182's, but also could have been a muppet. how did he check the relays ...

oh really ? that would be good news and hopefuly just a few simple fixes all at once, seeing as its been sitting for few years they seem to sell "UCH" kits (UCH, ECU, Keys etc) on the internet to fit the Clio Mk2 phase 1 (well 1999, 2000 etc.)

any knowledge about the loom in question. how does the throttle body attach ? when i get it off how much do i need to strip it down ? regardng the TDC sensor. were is it located and is there anyway of diagnosing it before replacement ? thanks
