Ah cool, I should have figured when the Clio turbo manifolds are advertised for the meg too!
Is your downpipe custom from scratch or a modified megane one?
Watching with interest! Awesome 5 by the way!
Checked the Immobiliser, removed and cleaned the crank sensor again, replaced coil pack, Cleaned up and swapped about the relays and fuses, checked and cleaned Earths, tried to start it, hovered a tin of petrol over the c**t, cried a little.
Mine is the same at the backbox, I managed to just bend mine slightly so it wasn't making contact with anything. The noise also didn't sound like it was coming from the rear of the car either. Some people say it's fine to remove but I'm not sure if the heat shield protects the fuel tank at all...
Winter tyres operate much more effectively than summer tyres below 7 degrees, which it has been here for the past week. Winter tyres disperse snow like a normal tyre would water, summer tyres don't do this as well and fill up with snow effectively turning them into slicks!
I wouldn't be without...
Good to hear, would have been interesting to do one before the other to see which made the difference.
Turns out my crank sensor was an eBay job which was giving me my issue so maybe worth checking that too!
Haha good stuff! Aye ok, my filter is the same, might look bigger when it's in the bay!
My pipe apparently went missing then communication tailed off so a couple phone calls and there was another sent on Tuesday. Still no sign of mine but I've had someone else's order turn up in the mean...
Looks good, Which size filter are you using? Mine looks tiny! Also, your coolant looks pretty low!
This is my third week week waiting on my pipe, shocking service from ASH
For anyone interested, I'm 99% sure my issue has been the sensor itself. For some reason I assumed that since the harness was Renault that the sensor would be too, so you sir.....
Get 10 points! But thanks to all for the help and suggestions.
Got a Renault sensor and the one that was fitted...
My sensor is blue and doesn't look too dissimilar but certainly doesn't have the same info stamped on it so thanks for that!
Ordered a new one this afternoon!
Thanks for the info, mine has nothing stamped on it other than the code 054312G made in Italy!
Are all the new ones blue? That's what's confusing me, people said the new Renault one shouldn't go wrong, the wiring harness has a Renault tag on it with the date 2013 but the sensor has little...
Smallish update, this time when the problem arose I tried jump starting the car. It turned over MUCH faster and fired up after a few more turns than usual so took it a little drive, all well and good and thought this would point to the battery. New battery in the following day and back to square...
I feel your pain, I'm having a mare at the moment with the car not starting at all, think I'll have to bite the bullet and buy a new tdc as that's where it's all pointing even though it's a new style one on.
Can't help you on the code unfortunately, have you tried jumping it from cold to see if...
Did everyone use the filter they received that looked small!?
I ordered the CC-115 which is 120mm at the base and 125mm tall and it looks tiny! Wondering if it's being used without issue or if I should return it for the slightly larger one
Probably find out the morning of 🙈 Cleaned the tdc sensor the day after KH and away it went, been ok since so struggling to see how it could be anything else!
The blue sensor that was first on, is it a Renault one? I agree, I can't see what else it could be when cleaning the sensor solves the issue, but why does it keep doing it with a new one!? Does no one have a genuine sensor you could borrow? Not sure how reliable an eBay one would be.
Does the...
My issue sounds very similar but mine isn't as frequent as yours… yet! Have you tried giving everything a wiggle first instead of removing the sensor?

Some suggestions in my thread include the coolant temp sensor...
Just came across this which is a decent concept of you have a fixed tow eye
http://www.dsnclassics.co.uk/retrosport-shop/suspension-subframe-parts/gopro-camera-mount/
Right ok, so maybe worth trying a jump start if/when the problem next arises?
Just strange that cleaning the sensor solves it temporarily, unless someone put the new one on and it keeps doing it so sold the car 😂
Yeah I tried the car when I got home on Saturday and again on Sunday and was still refusing to start, gave the crank sensor a quick clean and rub with emery and away it went, strange as it's the new style sensor. Should have tried that on Saturday morning in hind sight!
Least you got your car...
Again, no idea. I could probably get it tested though? It has went flat a couple of times over last winter but that's a couple of months before the problem started. I put a trickle charger on it if it's sitting and I'm working on it but all the readings there suggest it's still full of charge
