    Knowledgeable Mechanics - Diagnosis Help

Since that was posted I went on to do another 80,000 miles before the TCM was replaced, then after that another 100,000 miles after that before the clutches got replaced. So basically I don’t think that was anything to really worry about 🤣 just a characteristic of the car.

Check Auto Gearbox, losing the odd gears

Mine was a few years ago now, but probably budget £1k - £1.5k maybe? I had mine done at Renault as was one of the first to have it done, more places are equipped to code them these days.

TCM dude. I’d put money on it.

    Pouches for keyless entry/start

The 5 has this but if I lock it on the fob it disables that until the next time it auto locks.

Replacement transmission shift module Clio RS

@GtirHil I ended up replacing the clutch last week at 214,880 miles. Sash’s New Learner Car thread It’s solved my ‘Clutch 2 Torque Error’ code even though on initial inspection the friction plates don’t look excessively worn but something wasn’t happy inside the pack.

Never!! I think I’m going to be buried in it when my time comes.

    Sash’s new Learner car.

Not sure yet, need to get it regassed this week. I really hope so! Touch points should be between 6-9mm I think - I’m not exactly sure 🤷🏼‍♀️

Those that have driven both all say the Clio is their preferred choice 😎 In all honesty I think Moe is easier to drive than the 5. I like the CarPlay and Google maps in the 5 and the speakers are marginally better and the dash board is great for demoing bay parking 🤣 but all the ADAS 💩 can get...

Many monies. I was lucky to get a 3% off voucher code 🙌🏼 I haven't totalled the other bills yet, not sure I want to! Lol at this point RPD have had a fair whack of my money too 🙈🤣

    Sash’s new Learner car.

Guess I should update this thread 😎 Shortly after the post before this one I parked the 5 up and went back to the trusty Clio (Moe) for daily duties. Despite basically doubling my expenses the charging situation was killing me mentally. The 5 basically didn’t turn a wheel for 9 months until...

    Ricardo's 200EDC

When I replaced all 4 of mine I did genuine fronts and SKF (I think) rears. Probably due for replacement again soon as they were done at 132k and now being over 240k they’re probably gonna start getting noisy again!

No idea on the job. Does it need doing? Is it noisy?

    Rojer's 200T

My AC was cool for about 15 mins (including 5 mins of idling) but then went warm when I turned off the dual carriageway. Low pressure side pipe got hot where it was cool (not freezing though) when I checked during the idling time. Sat engine off for 30 mins air cool on start up and maintained...

How much was that if you don’t mind me asking? While my AC works, it’s a bit hit and miss and Dr Google says the dryer is farked.

    Rojer's 200T

Mine had a pinhole where it rubbed on that clip.

    Rojer's 200T

Is that a crack? My silicone hose that I got to replace the old knackered oem one that sits in that clip oozes oil. It’s very annoying.

    Weird TomTom SatNav problem

Oh probably… I never update it! No, took the cables with the sat nav.

    Weird TomTom SatNav problem

Yep, exactly that. It was very strange. Both working absolutely fine in original vehicles! We use standalone satnavs as it’s the same as the ones used on test and also can program and record specific routes. For general personal use I just use my phone and Google.

    Weird TomTom SatNav problem

My friend Claire and I swapped cars (Claire has a 23 reg Puma hybrid) to do mock tests today and each took our own sat nav (mines a TomTom start 52 and hers is also a TomTom but a slightly later model I think?). I plugged mine into the USB socket in Claire’s car (the same one she uses with her...

    Should I do it....

The early cars (which mine is) tend to suffer but the later ones I think are slightly less affected but still a potential issue. It’s a capacitor problem that usually plagues them iirc.
