i have stripped it down again now! same prob the clip has snapped! but also a white ring came out too its a bit bigger that the clip and the spacer! where is this from? cheers james

whoooop think im a lucky boy! no bits in oil both spacer and clip were just their ones bent i think! new bits on order £8.20 from renault :) :)

wasnt going to get the bits from renault or is it advisable to do so? if i went to a partco or such like company what are the part names i should be asking for?

whats the technical name for the spacer and the cir clip or (s). just so it looks like i know wat i am on about!

the drive shaft is free. ball joint on track rod end wont undo fully so im gunna strugle to do it back up! but once the box oil is drained tommorow i can undo the three bolts and see wat the deal is...... cheers for help just hope the remains of the cir clip aint in the box

no worries gunna drain gear box oil anyway just read the guide. what gear box oil shall i use?

will gearbox oil come out wen i take shaft out?

so is it likely to be a new box then? or shouldnt anything be damaged?

just read both threads i will try and get n\s drive shaft out to see if it is that tommorow! if worse comes to the worse are gearbox's hard to get then?

if i cant see it take sump out yea and see if theirs one in their! if i do find it is it easy to fix? if it was drive shaft sheared off it would crunnh and i would have heard something wouldn't i?
