I would have thought so, worth enquiring with Renault. I'm just speculating, I have read some threads on here where it has turnt out to be a coil pack. Well worth getting it checked by Renault, prob isnt a flywheel though seeing as you have only done 29k miles

Yeh, it didnt feel rough or any play. But then again I am a trainee and probably dont have the feel yet. But it just confuses me how this only happens at a certain outside temperature, and you cant really hear the sound down the pipes but only close to that spot oh well :dapprove: haha

Ok thanks edde. Ditz: Oh dear, I replaced the timing belt about 6k miles ago, but im pretty sure it was making the noise before. I'm hoping its not the pump because I cant hear the noise sort of around the thermostat housing, guess its time to start taking things off and having a good look...

Ah right, yeh thought so. but i assumed they had done the TDC because it is common on the clios aint it? you reckon its worth calling the RAC or will they not be able to diagnose it? Thing is renault is more than the 10mile limit from me too, damn.

At the garage I work at we actually have a non - wheel- contact machine which only touches the tyre, it is however very exepensive and requires specialised training but works really well and wont even mark the wheel

That is correct mate, the auxillary belt drives the alternator, air conditioning pump(if fitted), PAS pump etc. Did they change the auxilary belt?

I had the same problem, except when my indicator comes on the sidelight goes dim. I have replace all the rear bulbs, that fixed the flashing rear fog problem for a while.lol. I cleaned the earth etc but still no luck :dapprove:

I am also experiencing this, since i changed my timing belt and serpentine belt I have a sort of whirring noise from lock till about 1 turn back on the steering wheel. Any ideas? skinner have you checked the tension of the aux belt, normally a loose aux belt is associated with that symptom
