Exactly why I’ve bought it Daz, I hate phone photos so wanted something to take about with me daily. My A7C is small but not small enough. I can see this making me sell the A7C for an A7IV. Ricoh for EDC and then the Sony for more dedicated stuff.

Oh, and a tip re: f stops if you go for a fast prime. Most beginners will drop it to as low as possible in all scenarios. Most lenses are sharpest at about f8. Even on my 1.8 lenses, when travelling I tend to live between f/5.6 - f/8 these days, so long as the light is good, unless I’m trying...

re: viewfinder on Sony’s. Use the little black wheel next to it, it will calibrate it to you.

Only you can answer that mate. Some people (like me) love fixed focal lengths (I shoot 90% 35mm, and have an 85mm for some car stuff and portraits). Others like zooms. Primes tend to have slightly higher image quality, and are faster (lower aperture = better low light performance/greater...

Oh 😂 Complete misread. In that case, Sony do a 24mm f/1.8 or Viltrox 23mm f/1.4 @KitsonRis I’d play about with your zoom at 24mm and 35mm and see which feels best for you. Primes as a single lens can be challenging but fun.

75mm FF equivalent will be way too tight for a travel prime. For apsc you’d be best off going for a 24mm (gives you FF equivalent of 35mm). I’m unfamiliar with what Canon has available though.
