Right to update - cleaned out the throttle body and tdc sensor...no joy, still cuts out. Tdc sensor looks good as new as well! What's the situation with ICV's on phase 2's? do they have them/where are they etc?
For the past few months, my car has been stalling when the clutch is pressed at low revs, i.e coming up to junctions etc. It doesn't happen during normal gear changes, more when the revs drop..parking, in traffic etc. Could this be the TDC sensor or something more serious?
As above..for the first 10 mins or so the engine is running - smoke comes from behind the coilpack area/above the manifold! Smells like burning oil and (funnily enough) there seems to be a lot of oil/gunk around that area..
Tried cleaning it out etc, but no joy! Could it be something to do with...
Basically, the spark plug is screwed in tight - but at some point someone has tried to get it out and in the process rounded off/snapped off the nut/head part of the plug....so now its left screwed in but with no apparent way of unscrewing it..
Using this - http://www.laserhandtools.co.uk/item.aspx?cat=374&item=3830
It looks like the nut has completely snapped off though...so not sure if a smaller socket would do the trick!
In the process of changing my gf's spark plugs on her ph2 1.2 16v, but the second plug appears to have no thread on the nut part or be very rounded off....any ideas on how to get it out? Or is it a head off jobbie..?
On my 03 plate 172....used to cut out occasionaly when coming up to a junction etc and dipping the clutch, now it happens virtually every time the clutch is pressed in low gears!
cam dephaser pulley also needs doing - is this related?
was serviced a couple of months ago with oil change etc..
