Youve probably fixed this by now but thought id put a post up so if anyone searches it may be of help. This happened on my PH1 172 sport, intermittantly the revs would drop and the car wouldnt accelerate, revs would hold at 2000rpm and had to limp home. The PH2 has an electronic throttle body...
mine did exactly the same on way home from work yesterday. Turned engine off and back on, same problem, would only rev to 2800rpm. Got home, locked it and unlocked it again to see if maybe immobiliser was playing up, worked fine after that. STRANGE problem!

right, after replacing my spark plugs the misfire returned so i cleaned the ht's up and saw that no 1 was melted slightly and soft, gave me a bast**d of a shock aswell, therefore new magnecors are on the way but....................i believe the lead melted cos the leads were routed wrong, 3 an 4...
iv just checked everything again and when putting it back together realised the 1 and 2 ht leads were routed round rhs of coil, not lhs like other hts also the heat protection stuff had slipped up on the ht 1 lead, and its melted abit, no cracks but soft and pliable unlike the others, dead...

Trying to decide what exhaust i want on my 172, want something thats pretty loud so narrowed it down to a yoozasport cat back system, or a k-tec ultra recessed, also considering a k-tec 182 replica system. Could you post me some pics of the above or let me know which sounds best? esoecialy if...
just wondering how much work is involved in fitting an aftermarket 182 exhaust to my 172?? i presume the downpipe fixings are the same? dont have any problem with losing a spare wheel or welding on different exhaust hangers
either hammer an allen key socket in there of use a small punch and tap the bolt round, undoing it, couple of shocks and it should come easy. Worsed otipn, split the lock ring........
