Snapped Timing Belt
If it needs doing CHANGE IT!!!! Really you should try to do it early...... Honestly its not worth the hassle if it snaps (probable engine damage)! hope this helps xpa- xpa

Lookin to buy a 172 phase 1
yeah ive been looking around, theres a nice black ph1 near me with 77k on the clock! Might ring about it and arrange a viewing, not too bothered about the belts though as ill change them if i get the car as i can get it all on trade :P Also Ive drove a ph2 and the gearbox felt like it was moving...- xpa
